My husband and I stayed here this past weekend in a skylight room for our one year wedding anniversary. The Russell was BY FAR our favorite place we have stayed to day. It is absolutely beautiful. Around every corner is something new. The art work is stunning and modern. However, with all the modern features, you do not lose the beauty of the old church. We will 100% be back and will recommend The Russell to all of our family and friends!
The Russell is such a gem. It is very clear that attention to every detail was paid when renovating this historic church into a hotel. Our room was spacious and the bathroom allowed 2 grown ladies to get ready with adequate space and mirrors. I will most certainly return to The Russell and will recommend it to anyone in Nashville for business or pleasure. If for pleasure, or just a good burger, the Crying Wolf is 350 feet down the street and has a good beer selection and outdoor patio. You will not regret this place, I assure you.
The Russell is a most unique little place--very warm and friendly feel with commons space to read and enjoy coffee--provided in the lobby! We stayed on 3rd floor with a skylight. It was very clean and very conveniently located. Check-in and out were very easy and convenient but if ever a question, assistance was instant--which is UNHEARD of in the world of today!! Would definitely stay again if back in Nashville.
Absolute perfection! The building is gorgeous both inside and out. Not only have they maintained the history of the church physically but also spiritually by giving back to the community. The common area is not only adorned with the sunlight through stained glass windows but tastefully decorated and perfectly clean. A complimentary coffee and tea station, work/computer area, photo booth, phone booth and snack machine completes the area. I was pleasantly surprised to see high quality bathrobes and complimentary snacks from local companies. There is a parking area right outside the door for hotel guests only which saves you from fighting for street parking.
Before my arrival I received my front door code and room code via email as well as contact information if I needed anything during my stay. During my stay I received another email titled “just checking in” to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. I have never stayed at a hotel that was as quiet and relaxing as here. I can not say enough wonderful things about The Russell Hotel. This is the only place I will stay in Nashville from now on!
This little place is a gem. I really like that I was able to check-in without a front desk. The staff did a great job of checking in with me via text. The Nashville goodies in the room were delicious. The common areas and beautiful, open, and inviting. One nice touch was the filtered sparking water.
