My wife and I had a short get away for the weekend and Ocean 22 was a lucky choice for us. This was our first visit to Myrtle Beach and this hotel was nestled in a great location, had large clean rooms, everything we needed and the staff were awesome. We had a complete kitchen that was well equipped and the room had a washer and dryer. When we bring the family later this year we will definitely be staying here again. Beach access was great and a bunch of restaurants and things to do within walking distance. The grounds were well maintained and the hotel as a whole was very clean. This hotel is a definite recommend.
The rooms and building were awful. But, the staff was outstanding and really worked hard to make our stay the best. The bellman was so informative and helpful. The front desk was really patient and helpful as well.
Waiting 2 and a half hours past check in time and still no idea when the room will be ready. Sitting in the lobby with 4 children and the kids room is closed for covid (but the gym is open). It is off season and the elevators actually move quickly, but somehow we still wait between 2-5 minutes for the elevators every time. Not sure what that’s about, but wouldn’t want to be here during peak season! The rooms are nice and the pillows are among the best I’ve used beside my own. All in all it’s just a glorified hotel. Nothing special. Won’t be coming back here.
The room and view was nice. Staff very friendly. I understand why they don't waste beachfront real estate for parking; however, it would be nice to have a valet option for inclimate weather. My biggest complaint would be the hours of the pool and workout room.
I chose this hotel because it was one of the newer ones in Myrtle beach. The room was clean and I loved the suite set up! However, there were a few issues. The mattress and pillows were extremely uncomfortable. I think they may need to be replaced. I also didn’t like that the window in the bedroom was right next to the hallway. In addition, there were no regulations in the pool area. Masks were not required or enforced, and I was unable to use the amenities due to it being too crowded without social distancing. I think it would have been better if they allotted appointment times and required masks. Having some sort of protocol in place due to the pandemic was needed so that all guests could enjoy it . Also, our dishes were in the dishwasher so I was unsure if they were clean or not. I expected them to be in cupboards for our use. Overall, it was an okay stay for us. But, I’m not sure if we will stay here in the future.
