LOCATION!!! Very nice room (got a little hot though, had to open a window). Great room service. Friendly front desk. Ate one morning in the very nice and nicely decorated breakfast room, expensive, but lots of options and wonderful presentation, we enjoyed it. Wanted to use the fitness room but spent too much time exploring Munich. Would definitely stay there again and recommend to others.

The 'Platzl' Munich operates as a 4 star superior hotel. It is centrally located within the old town, thus within walking distance to many sights. According to advertising, it can, with one exception fully sufficient. The service is friendly and very good. The breakfast buffet good to very good. The restaurants satisfactory. The standard room quiet and sufficient in comfort. However, the bathroom with its approx. 4sqm is much too small and the quality of the shower too low water pressure and constantly changing temperature for a hotel of this category completely inappropriate and unacceptable. Hence my only 3 stars.
Very cool hotel in Platzl. The staff were all very friendly and happy to speak English with us. The location is great - right across from the Hofbräuhaus and directly above the Ayinger pub and a short walk to the Marienplatz, the Munich Residenz, the Opera House and many others.
