I loved this place. Character galore. Clean, safe, no fuss. Great mix of backgrounds of guests. Fantastic back lush patio. Service was A++ Eric found my wallet, walked out to the street did give me directions. Guy who checked is in also went above and beyond. Great welcoming staff. Walkable for us to most things, free trolleys steps away to farther things. Will def check out another Freehand property in the future!
We stayed at the Freehand NY in the past which was awesome so we opted for the Freehand Miami on this trip. Unfortunately the location wasn’t what I had in mind. It’s a little too far to walk to the South Beach strip. I also was looking forward to the pool which is directly in the middle of the club so you can’t swim after sunset and you feel uncomfortable as a guest amongst bar-goers. They also had a lack of lounge chairs and mostly had uncomfortable chairs to sit in around the pool. The room was clean and fine but much less impressive than we thought it would be. If you’re looking for a relaxing vacation by the pool this is not the place to go, you’ll be surrounded by 20 something hipsters. No breakfast either and the iced coffee machine was broken :/
This is a local secret. The food and cocktails are amazing. Hugo our server pick our food and drinks, great job! The cauliflower app is so good. The kimchi fried rice with a French omelet was so good and such a surprising combo that su ply worked so well. Everything we had was simply great. If you can find it, it's worth the find. Go there now!
Don't book here! Called 53 FIFTY-THREE times to inquire about my reservation. No-one answered the phone. The most unusual situation I've encountered during the 10 years of making a hotel reservation.
I did not end up staying at Freehand. I booked a room at Freehand through Hotels.com. However, I had questions about my reservation that I wanted to address prior to arrival. I have attempted to call the hostel several times over a span of three days. When I finally reached someone, the lady I spoke to was so rude and short with me. She answered my questions with such brevity that it did not give a clue of what to expect once arriving. When I realized she had no interest in doing her job, I let her go and proceeded to cancel my reservation. This is the beauty of capitalism, when you do not like someone's service, you have the option to take your business elsewhere. Customer service is key if one wants to get and keep business. Hopefully, whoever that lady is day gets better...
