Great location, fun outdoor pool and spa for the whole family. The family room is small but efficiently designed. Breakfast could be better and the service was hectic as they didn’t have a lot of servers during the rush hour. Great ski room. It really should be a 4 star hotel. Loved our vacation.
Incredible venue, location and staff! Only 5 mins walk in ski boots to the slopes where lessons start, heated pool for afterwards and little private balconies to enjoy the views too. Cosy yet spacious bar, heated ski lockers and pool table too, plus decent hot breakfasts. I feel maybe I've spoiled the missus on her first ski trip but at least she wants to go again next season :)
A bit pricey, but you get why you pay for. Excellent service, confortable rooms, friendly staff
Filthy hotel and fraudulent management
On our 3rd night here, we noticed for the first time that the underside of the duvet we had been sleeping on and the bottom sheet had not been changed from the last people. They were splattered with someone else’s blood - see photos (I feel sick writing this but want to warn other people). We were horrified and so upset. We complained to the receptionist - she looked visibly shocked, came and took the sheets away and said she’d tell the manager and investigate and come back to us asap.
They very clearly hadn’t changed the sheets from the last people because we had arrived early (before check in time) on the Saturday and they gave us the room early (clearly bypassing full cleaning).
However, when the manager and receptionist asked to speak to us the next evening,they completely changed tack & said it was “impossible” the sheets hadn’t been changed. They refused to accept any responsibility and tried to blame us. We were furious and the manager just shrugged!
When we checked out, we said we would not be paying for the 3 nights where we had slept in someone else’s filthy blood stained sheets. (We had already paid the other half up front).
We then flew home. I later saw that they had charged my credit card (which I had not given them details of - I did not make the booking and had no contract with them). I rang to query this and found out they stolen my credit card details. I spoke to Dominique Texier. She told me that they had obtained my credit card details from the ski hire shop next door without my knowledge or consent (Chaudanne Sport, who they are affiliated with) where I had paid for our skis and charged this card! (They admitted this!)
I said to the manager that this was clear fraud. She said to me “this is France”, I think meaning that she thought there was nothing I could do about it. I have now issued proceedings in England for credit card fraud against the Eterlou hotel, Chaudanne Sport and the manager Alicia Levasseur.
Truly disgusting. Please be warned and avoid!
