The room is spacious with modern design. Bathroom is clean with plenty of fresh towels ( bath towel, hand towel, face towel and pool towel). The staff at reception desk and housekeeping staff are very friendly and accommodating. Always with a smile on their face. Spectacular views from the rooftop swimming pool.
The only downside is the noise from the streets which is hard to avoid in the hustle bustle part of Boxhill.
I have not even stayed at the hotel yet, was about to make a booking for a wheelchair accessible room as I'm in a wheelchair, however upon asking I was told that the shower was a walk-in shower with no barriers BUT did not have any shower chair/bench and cannot provide one. My understanding is that if the bathroom/shower is meant to be "accessible", a shower seating should be provided as how would you expect someone in a wheelchair be able to stand in the shower?? I was totally not impressed and needless to say I've booked with another accommodation who does provide shower seating in their accessible accommodation.

This place was a great choice of accommodation. Cheap, clean, and the artwork was absolutely stunning. I wish I could have stayed for longer. The staff were also super friendly.
Being a long term resident of The Chen. The staff are the guys that make this place. The hotel itself is state of the art with spacious rooms, excellent service and very accomodating attitudes. Why would I ever leave Best views, stunning sunsets, one of the best rooftop pools and BBQ AREAS in Melbourne hands down.
Very nice, modern rooms with a clean, crisp presentation and tasteful use of Art (as the name suggests) to give a distinctive feel. The staff are exceptionally helpful, friendly and efficient. This experience was repeated on a followup contact, indicating a level of consistency that speaks to a strong culture. No complaints at all and this is now my regular for when staying in the area.
