Liked our stay in this hotel. Clean rooms, friendly staff. All necessary things were in the apartment. Had a lovely dinner and beautiful breakfast downstairs at the Edwin bar. Great, will recommend it to my friends. The only thing is that it was difficult to fund the entry, as it was a bit confusing.
We stayed here early in the year after the hotel had closed over the Xmas Break. It was first day re-opened and it was mayhem. I called prior to booking to ask about pool access. The staff indicated we would need to book - 1 hourly blocks. Which to us was weird as no other hotels were doing this at the time but we agreed. We called as soon as we booked over the internet to which the staff member indicated the pool was being deep cleaning from 2-4 daily!!!! So by the time we got up there (also I fobs never worked, so had to run up and down stairs as the lifts were full and restricted due to covid) the sun was gone and it was whipping cold winds. We were so disappointed with this stay well never stay or recommend this place.
To be fair the rooms were lovely and clean however, the balcony was dusty, dirty, has cigarette butts and old tissues on there. I did not let the kids out!
I needed a hotel and I booked but they mixed me up with another room and made me pay more on top of the deposit. The room was messy and the bed sheets weren’t changed ! This is disgusting. I found clothes in the washing machine and a really dirty bathroom. The wifi was playing up Aswell. If you want to stay here make sure they confirm twice that the room is clean and not the same way the previous had left it. Definitely not coming back !!
I lived at Shadow play Melbourne by Peppers over the last year. THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE! To begin with, property management is highly unprepared. They makes up information to try and fit their own agenda and they are extremely difficult to deal with taking up to days to reply. When we first moved in, we had an oven that did not work for the first whole month!! Property management also called the wrong company to fix the oven so we had to wait another week! The curtains had an unbelievable amount of animal hair all over them from the previous tenant, this took almost three months to be replaced and they tried to blame the substantial amount of animal hair on us so that they could remove it out of our bond. We did not even own an animal. We had a fire alarm that did not work for a week, two door handles needed fixing within the first 6 months (they tried to blame damage on the door frame on us after the broken door lock had damaged this). They cleaned the outside windows once in the whole year. The gym and pool were included in the total rent price, they did not reduce rent during the Covid-19 situation where we could not use the pool and gym, and did not care that financials were difficult at the time due to this. We had the room professionally cleaned on the 8th August, and we were not notified until the 16th of August by property management that the owner was not happy with the clean. Property management then tried to remove the cleaning payment from our bond if we were unable to get the room re-cleaned within the next 24-48 hours, as they said they had a tenant that was scheduled to move in during the following days. Not only did they give us no notice whatsoever, they were trying to take our money once again, over THEIR mistake! My old next door neighbour also thought that the management at Shadow Play was pathetic, and caused him to move around the same time.
I hope people read this before they decide they want to move into this absolutely ridiculous apartment complex/hotel, because it was the most outrageous and infuriating experience I have ever had while renting.
