Reviews from visitors:
What an incredibly nice hideaway with wonderful hosts! Absolutely recommended!
so wonderful place!
The parking was rather difficult but with the instruction of the owner of the place all was great.
Sumptuous social accommodation
I was there with my daughter already in 2019. We liked it so much back then that we wanted to come back this year with my parents (77 and 81 years old). However, Corona has thwarted our plans.
On August 14th, a week before we were due to arrive, France declared Marseille a risk area alongside Paris. On August 21st we would have traveled for 9 days.
At that time, half the price would have been due.
I contacted the property, shared my concerns with Madame and suggested that she pay the price in exchange for a voucher. In a phone call she tried to calm me down and described the situation as problem-free. Since I was in constant contact with the RKI and it was fairly certain that Germany would follow suit sooner or later (which also happened on Monday, August 24th), I canceled on August 20th.
Madame advised me to cancel as soon as possible so that she could quickly sublet and offset this against the costs I had to pay. I should also give her my credit card details for the settlement. At her suggestion, I sent her my email address for the billing and then I didn't hear anything more ...
Of course, I watched the bookings on Booking.de, but only found a few days for one of the two canceled accommodations that were bookable. I therefore assumed that they were rented ... (A Booking.de employee confirmed to me that the booking was possible again after cancellation.)
There was no response to later emails from me regarding the billing. Then I switched on Booking.de. When an employee asked for the first time by phone, Madame had no time because new guests had arrived and then did not respond to a written request from a French colleague for several days. After another telephone request, the employees got in touch with her again. Here I learned that, contrary to our agreement, she had already debited the money and was now ready to transfer the costs for the accommodation, which was around 70 euros cheaper. I had to reimburse half of the second, more expensive accommodation, 135 euros of which was the cost of breakfast. Why were these not reimbursed? She didn't have to pay for it.
On my credit card statement I was able to find out later that Madame had already debited the same day, that is, the day before our arrival. So apparently did not want to offset against possible new rentals, as promised.
Apparently, hotel owners in France were also advised to refund money in the form of vouchers (I found out from a Booking.com employee), which would have been fine for me, because I know of course that the financial situation of some landlords was / is difficult .
Furthermore, two reviews made me suspicious, which concerned our canceled rooms and could fall during the said period.
I am very disappointed how it all went ...
So, watch out during the Corona period when you book!
We won't be back. We would certainly have become regular customers.
I just discovered the evaluation of a French family who thanks for their understanding for the cancellation in August. As compatriots, did they get their money refunded?
