The hotel grounds and hotel itself is beautiful, and the staff are friendly and helpful. We really loved doing the wine tasting. And the pool has a great view, it's lovely to sit around in the day, and the grounds can be explored. We enjoyed being in a resort set up for a few days, just chilling and compared to a lot of hotels in Sicily this was certainly on the 4 star side! The service is however very slow, it felt like there was not quite enough staff working. Unfortunately the rooms are very loud, you can hear a lot of movement in the halls etc. Also the food menu stays the same, and therefore if you stay for a number of nights, it's going to be difficult to have different food for dinner (especially if you options are limited by not eating certain foods like fish or meat etc). The breakfast was particularly awful, there is no menu to order from the kitchen so you are left with the buffet that wasn't very good at all, and covered in flies (maybe only avoidable by covering the food). It's a beautiful location, very peaceful and if you can get it at a good price, maybe worth a visit for a night or two. But don't expect to be blown away by the food or service, I'm not sure this can be described as a "luxury" resort.
Gorgeous hotel with stunning views and the staff were exceptionally helpful. It was our honeymoon and we had a delicious bottle of the hotel's wine left in our room which made the stay extra special! The hotel is very remote but perfect if you want to escape and chill by the pool. If not, would recommend getting a car. The room was nice with beautiful views from the balcony and we even had a dressing gown and slippers to relax in. The food was quite expensive for what it was but you'll be sat outside in the beautiful courtyard. The wine is fantastic.
Beautiful Resort with a great view. Nice rooms. Good breakfast. Good food. Some details missing for a 5 star. But we enjoyed our stay very much.
We had a very mixed experience during our time at Baglio Oneto. To precursor my review - the overwhelming memory of this place will always be the terrible service we received at the restaurant at both lunch and breakfast.
Grumpy, rude, and at times downright mean staff - extremely overpriced and undersized portions - the experience of lunch was particularly bad. On arrival (we hadn’t even dropped our bags in our room yet) we sat down for a quick bite, ignored for 15 mins, and then shouted at and embarrassed by the older waitress for sitting at a reserved table, which had no reserved sign on it, after being told by receptions that they didn’t even take lunch reservations! Hardly a great welcome, we very nearly grabbed our bags and turned straight back around.
This same waitress was rude every time we came into contact with her for the duration of our stay. The head male waiter was also very abrasive, not just with us but with many families during breakfast. We had conversations with numerous families around the pool, almost laughing at the awful service in both restaurants.
Both straight after, and upon check out, we notified the reception about how upsetting this experience was - however were not refunded the full amount of our dreadful lunch. A partial refund of the cheapest items and a bottle of complimentary wine, still leaving us with a €50 euro bill. Not exactly an apt apology.
The hotel is pretty, the reception staff were nice. The wine tasting was brilliant. The other guests were lovely. The wine, was very good.
However we will honestly never return, or recommend this hotel, for the bad experiences we had! Strongly recommend you visit somewhere else, with more to do in the area and a better idea about what service should be at a 5 star resort!!!
We stayed for four nights in this beautiful place. Set amongst the vineyards. Peaceful relaxing place. Ideal for recharging your batteries. Hotel accommodation excellent. Staff very friendly and professional. Nothing is too much trouble for them. And the restaurant is second to none. Would rate the food as amongst the best we have had in London. Loved it so much we are sending our daughter and fiancé here for a treat before their wedding.
Excellent. Can't wait to return.
