high-quality little hostel. a touch costly. Kitchen is extraordinarily well stocked. flooring are a bit bit loud and creaky. environment is fun. exciting mix of campers hikers skiers. i will without a doubt bring my small kids right here if we stay in a non-public room inside the hostel. we are able to nevertheless mingle within the public areas. A brilliant enjoy for them to fulfill new and bizarre human beings.
Great little hostel. A little pricey. Kitchen is relatively well stocked. Floors are a little bit loud and creaky. Atmosphere is fun. Interesting mix of campers hikers skiers. I can actually bring my small children here if we stay in a private room in the hostel. We can still mingle in the public spaces. A great experience for them to meet new and weird people.
Nothing particularly outstanding about this place except for its proximity to the Village. It's a hostel and it comes with what you would expect from a hostel - shared bathrooms and bedrooms and noisy common areas, but also great opportunities to build camaraderie with strangers with common interests. Facilities are old and not kept the cleanest so be aware of that.
This place makes a lot of sense for solo travelers in Mammoth. Access to full kitchen, name labels for your food are provided. There is a common area with couch and TV. Ski and Snowboard storage option (not locked) in the common area, it is only accessible to other hostel guests. Communal bathrooms, you are provided towels. You have your bed and a small ish locker in a shared room. I come here alone, usually I end up riding together on the mountain with other hostel guests and have made great riding buddies this way.
Allowed a woman who was throwing up in the lobby at check in to check into our 4 bed dorm where she continued to throw up. Hostel staff us there was nothing they could do. Fortunately the sick woman was nice and moved out on her own. I usually like this place but this week was not so great. Only 3 teaspoons in the entire kitchen... Total. Coffee pot not working. Dish washer not working. One group of guys partying downstairs to 12-1 in the morning. Slamming doors, stomping around
