The most delicate, sophisticated place I've ever been to: a true sanctuary. Every single detail of the hotel - may it be the room, facilities, equipments, the food or the service - radiates quality. The staff is the most attentive, kind and hospital crew. Thnsk you Hotel Ani for such a memorable stay: we can wait to return!
Very spacious and luxury rooms. Service is excellent and patient. Whole hotel is very clean, it also has beautiful pool and beach. Everything is great and I’ll be happy to come again next year.
A very nice hotel. The tastefully decorated rooms (congratulations to the decorator), are comfortable, make you feel at home. Nice balcony with sea view.
The staff is very friendly, impeccable cleanliness, good breakfast.
I felt safe regarding Covid19.
The beach is just a few meters, and from there you can walk in Suma Park, or you can swim kilometers along it.
The center, restaurants and shops are nearby.
The Makarska Riviera is gorgeous.
I felt sad because I must leave the place.
I rarely return to an accommodation unit, but I will definitely return here.
I highly recommend it.
A fantastic location near the waterfront, comfortable rooms, the building has some unexplored history.if you're in this area ,this hotel is a good idea.
Room 105, first floor. When booking I was unsure if I’d get a proper sea view or not. As you can see in the photo, you do. Sort of.
There are trees in front of the hotel - there are trees in front of all the hotels - and on the first floor you can see under them to the sea, which is great.
I have uploaded a video of the room, balcony and view to the hotel listing on Google Maps if you want to have a look.
However, I’d suggest caution if you get a second floor room. It seemed to me (but I didn’t go into a room to verify) that you may be looking directly into the trees.
The third floor rooms seem to be above the tree-line.
There is a gap between the trees and I think room 104 and 204 are probably the best views in the whole hotel.
Torn between Hotel Central and Maritimo? I’d recommend Maritimo. It’s smaller, in a quieter location, with a much nicer restaurant / cafe out the front. Hotel Central is in the busiest place of the area with the most tourists - and not necessarily in a good way.

Stayed here in summer 2019. For me the best hotel I have ever stayed in! The hotel rooms were very modern, great pool with a beautiful view, the food was okay and the staff were very competent (multilingual). Only the fitness room could be expanded but that was a complaint at a high level and not worth a point.
PS: Thanks for breakfast, which was specially prepared for us at 5 a.m. for the long drive home. Very attentive! Hotel Mirjam & Croatia are fond memories for me
such a bless full experience. the staff was so nice to us, we never got to experience anything like this before. unfortunately we couldn’t say goodbye properly. if you’re looking for a really good stay during your vacation, this is the option :) nela & iveta
We greatly enjoyed the lunch menu of the day at the restaurant (see other review with the pictures of the menu board). Had a warm welcome from the staff and attentive service. Good food at reasonable prices. Really loved the corn flake chicken, tomato soup and fresh fruit. Would recommend for a nice meal on the terrace, just off the busy main streets.
I love Makarska! We had a really nice, relaxing vacation thanks to the stuff of Villa Riva! They recommended us what to do and where to go. Also, the rooms were clean and very nice, which is very important for us. Recommend this place!
Great balance between price and comfort, I’m in wheelchair and most of lower dormitory is accessible .. Full of space, clean, modern, and new. Great interior and exterior. Perfect Location just next to central Promenade and sea. And what is the most important, hospitality is on the Highest level, especially host Zoran, Who was Full of care , giving me full attention in sense of helping with wheelchair or carrying bag.. so lovely Stay in this Makarska paradise, hopefully next time will be longer.
