4 The Principal Madrid Hotel

images
Our stay at the principal was a dream! The hotel is one of the most beautiful and unique places I have stayed. Their staff was unbelievably attentive, kind, and welcoming.
Jose Carlos made our stay- we have not met someone in the industry as detail oriented and wonderful as him. My boyfriend asked me in passing what I wanted to do for my birthday the next day and Jose surprised us with champagne and desserts.
If you get the chance to visit I 100% recommend!!!!
5 Posada Del Dragón

Terrific and inventive takes on classic spanish dishes and the staff were wonderful. Their 5 types of marinated tomatoes dish is spectacular. This is definitely worth a visit.
6 Gran Hotel Inglés

Fantástico! This is a gem of a hotel. Everything about it was first class - the location, the accommodation and the service - wonderful staff who were so kind, warm and professional. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in and the breakfasts were amazing - everything you could possibly want. We will definitely be returning.
7 Hostal Chueca

Really nice staff! The place is clean, organized and has such a great interior! I personally didn't enjoy breakfast that much but everything else was great! The neighborhood is also amazing, with every sort of stores and bakeries. I loved being there. And they have pub crawls!! (great to meet some interesting people)
8 LaNave

The place is new and clean, breakfast is super, comfortable beds, pillows and plankets, you feel really welcome. The location is perfect for few days to see Madrid.
9 Aloft Madrid Gran Via

Excellent hotel. Staff are unbelievably friendly and helpful!!!! Centrally located and its right in the city center. Perfect for tourists. Easy to walk to restaurants and shopping and public transportation. Room was just right for me, as a solo traveler, and definitely feels safe (traveled during pandemic). Would happily stay here again!!
10 Only YOU Hotel Atocha

Never in my life have I experienced such friendly, helpful and competent hotel staff. The rooms are beautiful and very clean. The entire hotel has a very interesting and thought out aesthetic and they pay attention to detail. 5 stars well deserved, if only every hotel were like that.
11 Room007 Ventura Hostel

I loved my visit here, I do believe that the room were not in the best of state however the food more than made up for it.
12 Only YOU Boutique Hotel

images
It is an excellent experience. 3 topics:
- Located in Madrid's best neighborhood where you can walk everywhere (that counts) in Madrid, from culture to restaurants.
- Service: From reception, to bar, they are all about making you feel good.
- Place: The hotel is a group of buildings renovated and decorated in an exquisite way.
Conclusion: to repeat.
13 Hostal Santo Domingo

images
The hotel is centrally located in Madrid and located on the edge of the hip Malasaña And Chueca neighborhoods. We walked to the royal palace in about 20 minutes and it’s a 10 minute walk to Puerto del Sol Plaza and Cortes neighborhood that has a great bar and tapas scene and again about 20 min to the Prado museum.
My girlfriend and I stayed in a private double room and were more than happy. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and spacious for Europe and well styled. They held our bags for us because we arrived around 10 am and that let us start exploring the city immediately. We definitely feel the price was worth what we received in return and would stay again.
14 Hotel Indigo Madrid - Gran Via

images
Great location despite the construction next to the hotel. The room was a bit narrow/small. The front desk could've had a bit more presence but a fine stay nonetheless. This place is super clean and helpful when needed. Loved the shower too.
15 Petit Palace Plaza España

images
The Staff was super friendly and the breakfast buffet was great. Room was really clean and next time I’m in Madrid I’ll be going to book the same place. Nice experience!
16 Petit Palace Alcalá

images
We just got back from a 4 night stay in Madrid. The hotel was absolutely amazing! It has large clean modern rooms, a great breakfast and the best location you can ask for. On top of this, the staff is super friendly. A big shout out and thank you to Lorena who constantly goes out of her way for visitors. The tips and advice were thought through and with a great local flavor, keeping us with the hottest spots away from the mainstream tourist attractions. Thank you for an amazing stay, we will 100% be back and send our friends
17 Petit Palace Plaza del Carmen

Lovely place love it. Perhaps a litle small but confortable
18 Hotel Victoria 4

images
Great Service, close to the Center with many restaurants and Tapas bar's.
Great support arround the Cov-19 restrictions.
19 Petit Palace Plaza Mayor

images
A great hotel with helpful staff. Close to metro stations, so you can easily get around. If you want somewhere quirky and good to eat, try El miniBar. It's round the back of the hotel opposite the hotel garage.
20 CoolRooms Atocha - Luxury Historic Hotel

images
Enjoyed a 3 night stay at this hotel. The room was spacious, bed was super comfortable, and the bathroom was HUGE. The shower had double shower heads, and there were tons of counter space. The hotel decor is stylish and modern. Loved the candy jar in the reception area! Hotel staff were friendly, but their striped uniforms were a little tacky. We had home-made marshmallows and chocolates waiting for us in our room at check in, which was a nice touch. Breakfast was okay, but nothing to rave about. The breakfast room is a bit dingy and basement like compared to the rest of the hotel, but service was good. Central location, with tons of food options nearby!
I do my best to keep this list very up to date. It was last edited in April 2025. If you know of a hipster hotel that should be on the list, let me know. Click here to contact me. Thanks!
