I’d like to give an honest review to the hotel that I have recently stayed @courdesloges
The truth is in Europe hotels with 5* are unlikely actual 5* more like 4 or 3,5* unless they are monster chains like 4 Seasons, Kempinski, St.Regis etc.
@courdesloges considered to be well-spoken of one of the few « so called » 5* hotels in Lyon where me and my husband wanted to stay in order to celebrate our marriage anniversary.
It’s so didn’t worth it at the end and there is why:
There are hotels styled like old, this one it’s just old and badly maintained, room didn’t look properly clean and needed some retouches.
When it’s 5 star hotel the least you expect is technical supplies in ur room to be new or good brands...it looks like they didn’t update anything since 10 years already if not longer.
Also in the hotel I always pay attention to the bed arrangements: good quality bed sheets are must if it is a real 5 star hotel. Bed sheets at @courdesloges were at best IKEA ( if) and mattress and pillows were not comfy at all.
I didn’t have any good night sleep there.
Spa looks great on the pictures but in reality it wasn’t really clean.
May be this place is nice to come for a dinner and to take couple of pictures of the arches design inside but definitely doesn’t worth the money you pay for the room for the experience you get - ending up just feeling ripped-off.
Nice Place, really nice staff, almost a monument, really enjoyed the time here
We went to Le Bar twice. We didn't stay at the hotel but myself and my wife love the bar! Cocktails are impressive, service is very good. Atmosphere is a delight. Go there!
This is a very nice hotel, the staff is great. It's not very big but it is very quaint and the locations is good. Located in the old town with many good restaurants nearby.
The Hotel is wonderful.
It is located in a very nice area in Lyon center.
We arrived with motorbike and we had to enter in a restricted area (not sure we were allowed to do that ... thank you google maps for that), but we managed anyway to reach the hotel. If you go there by car, be sure to contact the property in advance to get information how to reach easily the hotel.
As soon as we entered we noticed that the hotel was different from the usual ones. It is like being inside a castle, with a small square at the center (the restaurant) and all the rooms around it on many floors.
Our room was very nice, on 3 floors.

and Bedroom on the last floor.
When we opened the WC room we were very surprised and happy ... there was a bidet !!! First time in my life in Hotel outside Italy.
The Hotel is well located in the center of the city, so many places are at walking distance from the hotel.
We really enjoyed our stay there, when we'll go back to Lyon we will book for sure again this hotel.
