I am an easy going traveler who often stays in hostels, and does not require a high standard.
However, this hotel double charged me 900 soles in January of 2020. Since then, I have politely reminded them every couple of months about the error. Unfortunately, it has been one excuse followed by another as to why they cannot refund me. First "the credit card company is closed" followed by "our interac account is closed", now they are simply non-responsive, even though they are taking bookings (and customers are leaving reviews). The way the hotel has managed this situation is nothing more than theft. I recommend avoiding this hotel, as I am sure I was not the first to be stolen from, and surely will not be the last.
Aside from the refund (now theft) issue, the hotel was fairly dirty, stinks like cigarettes, and was low on supplies (there will be a food and drink menu in your room, but it is unlikely they have most items on it). The type of guests that stay there proved to be of the creepy sort, so I would avoid staying there as a couple or family.
I hate to write a bad review about a company, but unfortunately their behavior has demanded it. It's unfortunate this review will likely cost the hotel far more than the sum of money which they refuse to return to me.
So much history and charm in this amazing building. Beautifully renovated and ornate detail makes it a must see. Super friendly owner. Perfect location for walking. Would recommend to any visitors!
The staff are fantastic. The hotel itself is beautiful and unique. We got an email in advance of offer starting asking if we wanted a taxi arranged from the hotel. The next morning when we thought we missed the breakfast cut off and we began to leave, the caught us outside, inviting us back in and made us breakfast, all while having thr owner chat with us as if we were old friends.not to mention the bar and bartender, super great! If in Lima, this is the place to stay.
