DEAN MARTIN SING A FEW SONG'S HEAR TOLD A FEW JOKE'S STRAIGHT FROM THE BAR. WAY BACK IN THE DAY. NOTICE THE LITTLE BAR BEFORE YOU GO INTO THE RESTAURANT. LITTLE BITTY STAGE NICE LITTLE BAR TELL A FEW JOKES SING A FEW SONGS PERFECT FOR DEAN MARTIN TO START OUT BEFORE HE BECAME FAMOUS AND THE ORIGINAL KING OF COOL. WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR DEAN MARTIN WAS THERE. IT'S A NICE GREAT OLD CASINO A LOT OF STARS BEFORE THEY WERE FAMOUS SING THERE BEFORE ALL THE HUGE ON THE STRIP TOOK OVER ALL THIS WAS BACK IN THE DAY ORIGINAL GANGSTER CASINO THIS IS A AWESOME BEAUTIFUL HOTEL AND CASINO VERY HISTORIC THE PRICES ARE GREAT GREAT RESTAURANT A LOT OF LOOSE SLOTS I KNOW MY ROOMMATE WINS A LOT THERE. I RECOMMEND THIS PLACE ESPECIALLY THE REUBEN SANDWICHES WHICH I'M ABOUT GETTING READY TO EAT ONE RIGHT NOW WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE CLOSE TO THE FREMONT EXPERIENCE DOWNTOWN AREA IF YOU HAVE A LITTLE TOO MUCH AT THE BAR WELL. The "EL Cortez" is a vintage hotel & gambling hall that has potential, but, it seems no one wants to upgrade this place. In my opinion a lot of the decor obviously is from a time period far far away & kinda in need of a deep cleaning with attention to detail. Heat was out in the room, fingerprints on fridge & nightstand. I Needed a clean\replacement ice container too. That being said, I liked the view from the top of the hotel, conveniently located, extra pillows, as well as a well upgraded bathroom were both a plus. Please don't get the wrong idea, it's not a dump, and yes I did enjoy my stay.
Great little out of the way place! Seigal 41 is a good, adorable restaurant.. serves breakfast all day, but be sure to ask for the prime rib special for only $12.99. It's not on the menu. It was very yummy. We ate there twice on our trip!
I love this hotel and have stayed there several times. Prior to upgrading it was a little bit dated but I loved it. Being a Family Owned and Run Establishment your always treated well and they always remember that you have been staying with them over a period of times.
Some of the Suites are fabulous and I love and appreciate the ' Extra ' personal touches & treats that they ' freely ' give & set aside for you.
IN CONCLUSION: EL Cortez Hotel although way off the ' Strip ' is convenient for just about all that you're going to want to do. Its Atmosphere is Great, Gaming Area Cosy, as are the Bars. The Food offerings are various but reasonable to fabulous.
Enjoyed my stay. Very close to the freemont street experience. Tower premium room was very nice. My only complaint was the water pressure in the shower. It was just a trickle. Don't plan on going to bed before 3am. The music from Fremont is very loud but your in Vegas. You shouldn't be going to bed early.
