I really love this hotel, so quiet and comfy. Good service and facility.
2 Mitsui Garden Hotel Shinmachi Bettei

Big thumbs up to the staff who were at all time extremely courteous and helpfull at all times! The installations were also quite nice, very beautiful... including the location who is close to so many things on top of being on a cute street!
Definitely recommend this place :)
3 Hotel Resol Kyoto Shijo Muromachi

Spent two days here. The hotel seems like it’s pretty new. The rooms are great and very clean (a bit small but it’s expected in japan). The staff is incredible and well versed in English. There is a great coffee machine in the lobby. Close to public transportation and plenty of restaurants. Highly recommended!
4 FUGASTAY Shijo Omiya

Recommend.
Efficient and friendly staffs.
Room was very clean and bright, comfortable bed and enough space in the room.
5 Kyokoyado Muromachi Yutone 京小宿 室町 ゆとね

The room was big with high ceiling. The garden was pretty and well kept. The breakfast was very good. Staff were very sweet - letting us stay past check out time at a lounge to work for an hour - good nespresso machine and nice tea selection. The location is also very central. The only thing is it was not cheap on a regular Wednesday but everything else was perfect.
6 Toshiharu Ryokan

Easily the best Hotel I have ever stayed in. Staying at a Ryokan has been on my bucket list for years. After having paid quite some money for the room my expectations were high. But never did I expect how amazing the experience would be: The room was just beautiful, straight out of a anime or traditional video game like Fatal Frams or Shenmue. The beds are soft and comfy, the garden view just beautiful, the Japanese was so tasty and big. But what made the stay really special was the amazing staff/family. Everyone was so so incredibly nice, made us feel at home, made us great tea and Wagashi, carried our luggage, always had a smile on their faces.
The Japanese breakfast was sooo delicious and they brought so much food, with dishes varying from day to day.
Just book this Ryokan, you will certainly not regret it ;)
The Hotel itself is really close to two subway stations, but we just walked everywhere as it is so close to many attractions.
Thanks for making my Ryokan dream come true ;)

Fantastic place to stay for any family. The staff are excellent, the location is very convenient and the rooms can't be beat!
8 R.STAR HOSTEL KYOTO JAPAN

images
By far one of the best hostels I've stayed in - the cleanliness and interior was reminiscent of a 4-star hotel! Location was great, staff were friendly, and absolutely no complaints. It was definitely a highlight on my first trip to Japan late 2019.
9 Hotel M's Plus Shijo Omiya

Nice place for your trip at kyoto.
Room are clean and the staffs are friendly. The hotel is in central of kyoto so you can travel easily.
10 Ace Hotel Kyoto

images
Ace Hotel Kyoto is a fantastic hotel. They accept pets, and that's not easy to find here in Japan. I really wish other hotels all over the country will follow suit. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly all the time, when we left, we were already planning out next visit to Kyoto and Ace.
11 Urbain Kyoto Shijo Omiya

This hotel was such a pleasant surprise! The room was clean, modern and offered everything one could need. Unlike many hotels in Japan the windows in the rooms open and you can get some fresh air into the room whenever you want. The breakfast buffet was exceptional! I never imagined to have such an amazing breakfast every day. There are free laundry machines and driers on the 2nd floor and you only need to pay 50 yen for the laundry detergent. There's also a small public bath on the 2nd floor which is enough for 3 people.
It's located very close to 2 train stations and plenty of buses stop next to it making traveling in Kyoto a breeze. Many restaurants around and also supermarkets. They offer free rental umbrellas and overall the staff made me feel super welcome.
12 Miru Kyoto Nishiki

images
Great location, clean and comfortable - but the best thing about Miru is undoubtedly their friendly and helpful staff. Yoshimi, Chie, Sachiyo and Keita were absolutely lovely and always game for a good chat! They all spoke excellent English as well so we never had to struggle with anything with our limited Japanese language ability. We'll definitely stay with Miru again the next time we're in Kyoto.
13 TSUGU 京都三条 by THE SHARE HOTELS

This is a fine hotel with comfortable, well-furnished rooms and with quality breakfast available. It is well-located in the centre of Kyoto's boutique-y shopping district (Paul Smith, Aesop etc.). It is, basically, a good hotel. It does however exhibit a few of the problems that plague Japan's newer hotels for the well-to-do hipster set, namely a tendency to overdo things and a focus on image over practicality. We visited with an 18-month-old. We were not the only guests with young children, probably because this hotel is for some reason marketed on some sites as family-friendly. I suppose it may be, or at least no less so than most Japanese hotels, but it is not necessarily friendly for families with young children. For example, the breakfast area is located just past the front desk, down a very short set of stairs, meaning it was necessary to lift a pram down. For another, the front entrance is a big, very attractive set of metal doors. They are also very heavy, which makes getting in with a pram and/or luggage difficult. These are small issues but display a slight lack of thought when it comes to practicality, but again I don't think practicality is the point - the hotel wants to be stylish and cool, and to that end largely succeeds.
