1 Richmond Hotel Premier Kyoto Ekimae

Nice new hotel, opened in spring 2019, relatively spacious room when compared with other business hotel near the Kyoto JR Station. Offered free afternoon tea, wine tasting happy hour and late night snacks. Staff speak good English. You can have 500 Yens rebate each night if you choose no cleanup.
2 TUNE STAY KYOTO

Loved it. Such a trendy hotel. Great value, clean and friendly staff. The social space downstairs is perfect. Great communal kitchen, sitting spaces, free to access library / bookstore and seating areas.
3 Royal Twin Hotel Kyoto Hachijoguchi

Highly recommended!
Employees really know about how to offer hospitality. If you visit from outside Japan, you can enjoy Japanese-style bath with English instruction and sophisticated common space while securing an easy access from Kyoto Station.
However, if you have a large suitcase, make sure to check the size of the room before you confirm booking. Standard twin room might not be large enough to accommodate you comfortably.
4 Via Inn Kyoto Station

The hotel is nice with well furnished and clean rooms. The restaurant offers a wide variety of typical Japanese food. The position is strategic (few meters walk from the train station) and there is a direct ingress to the 7 eleven open 24/7. Only two points of improvement: the concierges (at least the ones I spoke with) don't speak English and the check in is possible only after 3pm. For the latter no exceptions are allowed so after 16 hours of flight + train I simply had to wait until 3pm to have access to my room.

Large room for family of 4, very comfortable, very friendly staffs, super easy on item free rentals. Nice kitchen. We prepared dinner with ease. Incredible ease to move around in Kyoto as it is walking distance from the station.
Whole family loved this apartment, will definitely stay here again when we come back to Kyoto!
6 SAKURA TERRACE THE GALLERY

This hotel was recommended to me and we stayed here for the duration of our trip to Kyoto. It was a great choice. The location in close proximity to the train station is perfect if you want to travel around, it saved us a lot of time.
We were very happy with the hotel: great breakfast, friendly and competent staff, our room was fine as well and they even have an onsen and washing machines with dryers which you can use for free! I can definitely recommend this hotel.
7 THE THOUSAND KYOTO

Great stay. The hotel staff were super helpful prior to our arrival with help making restaurant reservations, and also a last minute one during our stay. Really appreciated how kind and helpful the staff were. The room was perfect, comfortable, with everything we would want or need. A 2 min walk to Kyoto station. Would definitely return
8 Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Station

The staff is very helpful, prices are reasonable and the rooms are spacious for Japanese hotels. The hotel is doing a great job ensuring the staff and guests stay safe during these times. I feel safe when staying here.
9 OnYado NONO Kyoto Shichijo Hot Springs

This is the latest Dormy Inn hotel in Zaimokucho, which has been a vacant lot for a long time, near Kyoto Station. Please note that it is just behind the inn of Dormi Inkout Hanabusa, and it is easy to make a mistake in the navigation settings.
The parking lot is in the basement, but only a very small number can be parked, so please book the hotel together when booking. There is a white line so that you can park two cars in one block, probably because of a design mistake, but in reality you are told to park one car at a time. Is the distance between the pillars narrow?
It is a building with a narrow frontage and a long depth, like a large townhouse. When I entered the building, I had to put my shoes in the lower leg box like a super public bath and walk around the tatami mat without shoes, but I was not worried because it was very beautiful and well-cleaned. Those who are interested can rent slippers at the front desk.
Front staff Many of the hotel staff are young, and I feel that the operating company has an extraordinary determination for this hotel series, and I like it. After seeing how hard they were dealing with visitors, I was keen to see them gaining experience in management during this difficult time and taking on the role of the next-generation tourism industry.
I think the highlight is the hot spring ♨️. You can take a bath from 15:00 to the next morning, and you can relax in the sauna as well as in the lukewarm water. You can heal the tiredness of your trip in the two-story bathroom. This is a new generation hotel with tatami mats in all rooms, and you can stay at a reasonable price, so if you are going to Kyoto, please choose it. You can choose as much as you like for dinner as it is within walking distance to Kyoto Station.
10 HOTEL KUU KYOTO

Lovely hotel in Kyoto. I have been twice now and I will go back this year!
The staff are really nice and helpful. I had an issue in my room with a noise AC unit and they immediately moved me to another room. They even helped me carry over my suits!
Highly recommend.

I couldn't recommend this place enough. The family that own it are lovely, the food is delicious and rooms are clean. If you want a relaxed stay in Kyoto right next to be beautiful Japanese garden. Stay here.
12 Hotel Kanra Kyoto

Lovely hotel in central Kyoto. Beautiful Japanese modern decoration, both in the rooms and common areas. Japanese breakfast is a delight for your senses. Beautifully presented and delicious. The staff is probably their best asset. Warm and attentive, they really make you feel welcome.
13 Karasuma Rokujo Hotel

Very quiet and serene. The rooms are very clean and as a solo traveler I even had the chance to get a veranda and a nice view. Would love to come back.
14 ORIENTAL HOTEL KYOTO ROKUJO

2020, August 10
I stayed here for just a one day trip to Kyoto. It was a nice and cheap hotel. The lobby was so cool. The staffs were friendly. The hotel is a little bit far away from Kyoto station but you can easily go there by bus or taxi. It only cost 230 yen for bus and around 700 yen for taxi(Didi).
I booked a room with a breakfast and I got a Japanese breakfast. It was good to eat rice and soup but I actually prefer a scrambled eggs :) but since their hospitality is great I can’t give them like even 4 stars.
