Nice new hotel, opened in spring 2019, relatively spacious room when compared with other business hotel near the Kyoto JR Station. Offered free afternoon tea, wine tasting happy hour and late night snacks. Staff speak good English. You can have 500 Yens rebate each night if you choose no cleanup.
If you go to Kyoto and need to find hotel near Kyoto station.. u must stay here Richmond Kyoto Ekimae. New hotel, cozy, very clean and they give u unlimited mask and bath salt.. so nice. The breakfast very delicious.

Convenient location, not too far away from station. The hotel is newly built and with modern design. We are lucky to get a big room with toilet and bathroom separated. Morning breakfast is with a lot of varieties and delicious. And the price is reasonable.
Bad experience here. Charged 800yen for check in fees on the spot we're checking out! And when we were going to check out, the machine was broke down (out of service), eventually it caused 15 minutes delayed! Search for the front desk assistant but they asked us to pay 1000yen because of the delayed. They can't even speak simple English, that made us so hard to understand, we ended up paying them 1800yen, feeling so unhappy about the bad service they provided. Never stay in Richmond again when we come to Kyoto next time.
