Reviews from visitors:
Great location, clean and comfortable - but the best thing about Miru is undoubtedly their friendly and helpful staff. Yoshimi, Chie, Sachiyo and Keita were absolutely lovely and always game for a good chat! They all spoke excellent English as well so we never had to struggle with anything with our limited Japanese language ability. We'll definitely stay with Miru again the next time we're in Kyoto.
The Miru's five-star ratings are truly well-deserved. We felt so fortunate to have found this gem in Kyoto. The staff was welcoming and truly went out of their way to take care of our every need. We had originally booked for 3 nights and ended up shifting other reservations so that we could stay for 5.
The decor is stylish and minimal, the bed, linens and pillows were super comfy. The bathroom was a bit small but suited us fine.
The location is perfect, a short walk from the Nishiki market and within close reach to trendy boutiques, restaurants in all price ranges, an amazing bakery (Walder) and a few blocks from our now favourite craft beer taproom (Umineko).
We travelled during Covid19 and felt very comfortable with the hotel's efforts to maintain a clean and safe environment. Thanks for a great stay Miru- we look forward to seeing you again!

I don't think I could consider any other accommodation when returning to Kyoto. This place is perfect. The room is well appointed with microwave, fridge, kettle, coffee machine, hair dryer, iron, and lots of other bits and pieces for convenience. The furniture is good, new, and comfortable. I had a tatami room; I've stayed in tatami rooms in several different accommodations and the comfort of the futon bed has been highly variable, but this is the most comfortable futon I have ever slept on. I wish I could take it home to replace my bed! The pillows have buckwheat or similar on one side which is actually really comfy. The bathroom is a very good size by Japanese standards with a bath and good water pressure. The location can't be beaten and the staff are wonderful too. I couldn't be more pleased to have chosen this hotel.
Impeccable is how I would describe my experience at this hotel. Whilst you will be paying a slight premium the value received far exceeded my expectations. The hotel is well located near Nishiki yet you will be in a quieter part of town hence you can get a good nights rest. The room is well appointed with high quality amenities, big by Japanese standards, and you know they have put in a lot of thought to both the design and furnishings.
I wish to commend the staff that were courteous, well versed in English and were more than happy to go the extra mile for our requests.
Looking forward to return to this hotel when I am in Kyoto.
LOVELY staff! They were so helpful with the check in process. The rooms themselves were amazingly clean, spacious and comfortable. Was a great respite from the crowds in Kyoto ❤️
