Big thumbs up to the staff who were at all time extremely courteous and helpfull at all times! The installations were also quite nice, very beautiful... including the location who is close to so many things on top of being on a cute street!

Good hotel with japanese style (ryokan) in the middle of Kyoto .
Very impressive and traditional Japanese hotel. Rooms are clean and spacious for w Japanese hotel. Entrance is exquisite. Amenities are plentiful. The staff is friendly and can speak English. Easy for foreigners to make reservations and to get help and get questions answered. Area is close to shopping and other tourist attractions. Kyoto station can be reached by a 30 minute walk, or faster by local bus.

Located in a quiet traditional neighborhood, this hotel is very popular with western tour groups. Lobby and general areas are tastefully decorated. Rooms are on the small side, but comfortable. Staff speaks English although ability varies from person to person. Only ate breakfast at the hotel restaurant, which had an odd system of making everyone wait for 5-10 minutes despite an abundance of empty tables. Would recommend visiting during the off-season.
