Beautiful Japanese style hotel, not exactly a ryokan, but lovely nonetheless. It was restructured from a restaurant that was 100 years old so it's got a bit of history, but don't worry, everything is clean, elegant and picturesque. Staff is fantastic, friendly and one particular member speaks languages. The rooms are amazing and each one is a little different. The ones I stayed at had private outdoor garden/patio areas. A bit pricey but totally worth it of you're willing to part with a bit of coin.

We stayed in the smallest room but even that was nice. It had a small porch overlooking a central courtyard, and an amazing bathroom with a soaking bath tub.
The staff was top-notch, very friendly and helpful. The attached restaurant is associated with a Michelin-Star restaurant and the food is amazing. We tried both the Japanese and the western style breakfasts. Five star service and food.
The location is in old town near many temples among picturesque streets.
This was my favorite place we stayed in Japan because of its traditional Japanese style, it’s location, and the food.
Great and charming place! Hits the sweet spot of making you feel like you're in a ryukan with the luxuries of a hotel. Super close to many of the city's attractions. Amazing and helpful staff. I would definitely stay there again!
Best hotel we stood at in Japan. I cant wait to come back and stay again. The building is beautiful, and well kept. The rooms are huge by Japan-standards. It was one of the nicest hotels I have had the pleasure of staying at. There is no doubt we will be back
Service is very good. We stayed in the Tea Room suite. Excellent experience. Make sure to have the course dinner at the adjacent restaurant. Most likely the best dinner I have had.
