Great sunset spot either on your own or at the 5 palms, grassy area so of resort open to anyone and nice if it's windy. Beach access parking in the gravel lot but goes fast because it's limited.
I stayed in 108 on the ground floor it was nice to be able to step out to the pool. Normally I don't like ground floor units but this had a nice view of a big park and then the ocean. The unit is small with very little closet space. It was very clean and comfy everything that you would need was stopped in the unit . The owner Elizabeth was very responsive via email and communicated well. I rented it through VRBO.
Also for those interested in this kind of thing, a couple of strange things happened in the unit. The bedroom has a double set of louvers and shutters. The louvers are the windows and the shutters are the window covering in the bedroom. One has to open the shutters to open the window louvers then close the shutters but open their louvers to get air to circulate in the bed room. All of this is built pretty well and takes some force to move. I did this and opened all louvers on all three windows in the bedroom and all the louvers on the shutters. When I went back in the bed room just a few minutes later all of the louvers on the shutters were closed tight. Like I said it takes some force to move these. I was the only one in the unit and I did not do it. There are screens on the windows so no one could reach in besides the windows are up high near the ceiling. The other odd thing was I used a nice large beach towel provided in the unit. It wasn't wet so I loosely folded it and placed it on a chest of draws in the hall near the bed room. The place is small and went into the kitchen or bathroom. When I stepped back into the hall the towel was gone. I looked all over the unit for it but never saw it again. It was odd it didn't feel scary but I did have the feeling I might not really be all that alone there. The ghost of a past housekeeper, who knows.
I've been coming here for over 20 years. My favorite place on the island to stay.
It was absolutely amazing! Beautiful views and close to the beach. Very clean and friendly guest and residents. Would recommend any going to Maui to rent a unit here.
Best place to stay in Maui. Owners blow the conchel shell each night. Pool is warm but heavy chlorine. Glow in the dark bocce to use, beach toys and chairs.
