Simply excellent!
Abayomi Hotel was a gratifying experience. It is well designed, with a nice décor and a very nice and clean environment.
Its staff could not be more friendly and efficient. My family and I were impressed.
The room is very comfortable.
There is a suitable indoor parking.
There is a nice swimming pool area.
They provide reserved tables and umbrellas, as well as service on the beach across the street. The only drawback is that the beach itself is not that good [when compared to the many other beaches around there], but it's probably ok for most people.
There are several restaurants and shopping places around.
It's less than 2 mi from the historical center [called Vila].
Next time we visit Ilhabela we'll stay there.
1. Air Conditioning did not cool the room
2. TV Volume - Did not adjust with remote control. Batteries have been changed.
3. Safe - Battery to be changed as it is giving an error message “bat-lo”. Batteries never changed.
4. Rug always had dust and debris on it - from check in day to the day we checked out.
In short, Room 8 was not ready for occupancy upon our check in.
Shower floor was constructed in such a way the water would collect at the entrance. Well away from the drain haha So, every-time one took a shower they had to step in a pool of cold, old shower water to shower. Not ideal.
Friday, September 18th I received two calls to the room from the reception desk, both times they were advised my Portuguese is limited and both times they simply hung up the phone. As a result, they sent the valet to the room, he too was advised of my limited Portuguese. Still not sure what they want... With technology today, communication is easy - simply translate!
This hotel and its staff are not prepared to handle international guests.
F&B service was good, they we’re outgoing, friendly and efficient.
The claims of “anticipating needs” and “relaxed, serene environment” were not experienced during this 4 night stat...
