Golden Beach resort one place with heaps of potential to develop and grow stronger. Negatives No information about traveller's obligation to have a printed covid test certificate upon checking in. No information on booking.com website either about this requirement Only very few Staff members could speak or understand any English. Bartenders served beer in really small glasses about 200 ml, attitude not friendly either. Wine and hard spirits are all local Egyptian products, taste horrible. "Italian restaurant night" food was inedible. Meat from the grill usually very chewy and tough. Omelletes and ala carte pasta dishes very oily. Not enough variety for vegetarians Eggs not sourced from free range chickens, very unethical to use battery eggs. No bananas for breakfast No fresh juices No fresh coffee for breakfast Felafel not tasty or crisp Bar near beach closed too soon at sunset, one can't sit on the beach and enjoy a beer. Cocktails horribly sweet and taste artificial Baklava selection on buffet only had coconut stuffing, no nut fillings.Mostly semolina and katayef pastry drenched in sugar syrup. I recommend that Portion size of pastries and desserts be made smaller to allow guests to sample more than one offering from the buffet. Self serve, Soft ice cream machine would be a delightful addition to the buffet. Quality of rice and fish really low Not enough information about different breads being offered on buffet. Staff morale seems low Process for beach towels not user friendly Hard to find a responsible person to speak to incase of an issue Seems like inefficient management or managers leading the team. The whole place is generally tired and needs a good management team to bring it back to a well run professional level. On a Positive note, some oriental salads on the cold salad bar, really well prepared and presented. Good carvings of melons and pumpkins for creating a lovely display. Gardening and housekeeping staff doing their best to maintain rooms and green spaces.
