When we stay at a four or five star hotel we expect a Plush and inviting experience, Including an amazing mattress. What the Derek hotel offers is the experience of the location and the high end shopping and dining options in its orbit. My husband‘s birthday coincides with spring break so we expect things to be busier at this time of year.But when you add the cheapest one ply toilet paper I’ve ever experienced plus a stimulus check convention into the mix... However Dennis at the front desk was more than gracious and accommodating during our stay, Dennis receives five stars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This has to be some kind of joke. The price we paid and what I’m looking at isn’t adding up. I’m paying for things that don’t even work? The a/c isn’t working. The fridge isn’t working. No sheets, we asked for some hours ago and haven’t received them. From the looks of it, we cannot get a refund but I’d feel more comfortable sleeping in my car at this point. Nothing in the description is here. EXTREMELY disappointed. A motel 6 is better than this. I can’t believe we wasted our money. NEVER AGAIN. I can’t wait to check out!!!
2020 **Update - Staff did not enforce masking during the C19 pandemic. - many people with out masks and the clientele was focused on booking rooms and turning profits out of them.

Morning staff on top of it.
Evening staff not so friendly at 4:15 pm.
Cold water faucet in vanity leaked when turned on.
Water pressure was low.
TV outdated in my King Suite.
When the owners decided to make this Hotel Derek fashioned after the oil and gas industry they must have had too much whiskey the night before. So, they have one cow out front that has hotel Derek stamped on it...get another and they'd have a herd. This hotel gets E for effort as a "C" level hotel. The Grotto restaurant is across the street and was a nice reprieve.
I thought this was going to be a wonderful experience. However the customer service was definitely a 1. Every time we tried to call guest services we would be placed on hold. You where lucky if someone answered. There was a baby in the next room that cried all night. Needed extra towels and the house keeper with a cart full told us we had to call guest services! Remember the ones that do not answer the phone. Then asked a manager on the floor and they said let me call housekeeping which was right down the hall. Went to guess services to ask for towels. They said let me call housekeeping. We never got our extra towels. Received 2 different times for late checkout. Bad experience and waste of money!
No room service. Customer service phone line just rings. Wrong room. Two queens not one king bed. Requested balcony. Concierge not taking calls either. Parking is outrageous. Never again.
