The rooftop has a wonderful view.
Prior to arriving, I called because parking was confusing. The hotel staff that answered was super sweet and provided advice as to where to park. Being that it was a girls trip we had to be careful in the city. The staff was amazing the entire trip. I love the extra security by only getting access to the rooms floors by utilizing room key. Our view was okay, but the rooftop view was a sight to see. The bartenders at the top was so sweet. All the hotel was missing was proper parking near by, but it's downtown so you get what you can, right?!.
We had a nice room with a long size bed. Amenities covered everything we needed and the style was very modern/contemporary. All the hotel-related items (shampoo, coffee, etc) appeared to be European-made. Thought that was interesting.
Staff was a mixture of polite and presumptive. Had one guy, Nicholas, who was amazing. Another lady working reception wasn't rude, but was rather direct with me when I was asking basic guest/customer questions about a place and city I knew very little about.
We had asked for champagne flutes to be delivered to our room before we arrived. They were present but they felt dirty. I'm assuming they weren't, but that the soap left a gritty texture. We rinsed them off before using them.
Overall, very positive experience but wasn't perfect.
Loved this property! Clean, bright, and very modern. The bed was amazing and the room darkening drapes allowed me to sleep way longer than usual. The only reason they don't get a 5 star is because the shower grout needed to be redone. Seems like a small thing but when everything else is bright and the shower floor looks dingy it's me wonder what else might not be cleaned so great? It's a quick fix and something that should be done at least twice a year for high traffic hotels. But I would definitely stay there again.
I stayed here for 6 months (I'm a nurse who helped with the covid response and my facility was right down the road) and I cannot say enough good things about this hotel and the staff. Every single morning at 5am and every single evening, I was greeted by the friendly staff. Everyone knew my name, asked about my day, and genuinely listened. They collected my countless Amazon packages from my online stress shopping and truly made me feel very safe and very at home. It is hard to make a hotel feel like a home but this staff went above and beyond to make me feel so. I will never forget their kindness and it would be a mistake NOT to stay here if you come to Houston. Beautiful accommodations, the most comfortable bed I have slept in, excellent gym, and beautiful rooftop views. Thank you!!!
After visiting Houston for a trip of leisure, I can honestly say that this Midtown/Downtown Houston location was a perfect selection for our stay. We were within 7-15 minutes of every attraction/restaurant/venue that we wanted to visit. However, the rooms were nice, minus not having a balcony and having stains on our carpet and not receiving mid day cleaning services and fresh towels. Also, the parking is not ideal due to the Valet closing at 11. There was a guest representative at check-in that was not helpful and gave snide remarks. There was also another representative that was very unruly to my party and myself due to the valet parking being a concern upon arriving back at the hotel past 11pm. We were harassed and questioned over and over again about our vehicle being left after the valet closing which is an issue when paying $40 USD a night for parking. Even when using the lobby’s microwave to reheat leftovers and eat (Microwave not included in rooms) we were disturbed by the same representative. I was highly upset as a Marriott Rewards member to have received this treatment from these individuals. Overall, I would stay in this location again because it really is in a great location to experience all of the great things that the city of Houston has to offer.
