Do not stay here, upon checking in I pulled back the top sheet and found a bunch of long straight hair and when I called the front desk to complain I was told that the rooms wasn't being cleaned because of the winter storm. There was also hair in the bathroom. The employees were super rude when I asked for clean sheets. I was told that he was busy and to come down stairs and get them myself. They have a cafe with all in one salads for 8 dollars and after I purchased them for my daughter and myself I noticed that they were expired. When my toilet got stopped up they made me unclog it on my own. I asked for my trash to be emptied and was told to sit the trash cans outside of the door and the housekeeper would empty it. I left for 4 or 5 hours to run errands and came back to the same trash. I had to ask for a bag to empty it on my own. I feel like not clean rooms and reusing sheets should be grounds for a citation from the city especially during a deadly pandemic. This hotel is pure trash.
I want to first off by saying that the front desk staff were friendly and very helpful. With that being said my stay at this hotel was not the greatest. First off there is no parking for the actual hotel and you must pay out of pocket for the parking garage across the street for my stay of 4 days and 3 nights it was an extra 85 dollars. Going through the hotel to get to my room there was trash buildup in the hallway trash cans that were not taken out the whole time of my stay. Once in the room, at first glance it was pretty clean. The more I looked around and into it the bathroom still had remains of items left by previous guests such as, fake clusters of eyelashes, dirt, and a used coffee filter in the coffee machine. The bathroom outlets did not work and the phone would not call out to anyone not even the front desk so I had to just use my cell phone to call for things. During my time there I had called the front desk to ask for an extra coffee pouch for the coffee machine. I was told it would be right up. I waited for approximately 1 hour then called the front desk again and was told that the housekeeping staff was on break and it would get to me quickly. Another 30 to 45 went by and still no coffee. I called down to the desk for a third time and then the individual working the front desk brought them up himself which took less than a minute. Another incident like this happened the next day where I had called and asked for extra towels and another toilet paper roll. My family and I were staying here which was a total of 4 people. So those items went quickly. I again was told that they would be right up. After waiting and even showering without the items I asked for, which was about another hour or so, I went downstairs to complain about the situation. The individual at the front desk gave me the items right then and there. That is when in just gave up on the housekeeping staff as a whole. I understand that due to the covid pandemic there a things out of the hotels control, but I dont think that cleanliness and peoples time should be on the list. I would not recommend this hotel if you are staying as a family with children. The location is great for downtown activities and again the front desk staff were professional, helpful, and courteous. Those unfortunately are the only main pros I have for this establishment.
Front desk agent was not helpful at all, we had stains on our sheet and asked for them to be change but declined it. Also carpet was dirty found what looks to be like a throw up stain next to our bedside. I’m really disappointed in our stay. That’s not even the end of it, I should’ve known from the start when I was booking a room on the phone with an agent. She did not seem to know what she was doing. I was put on hold with another customer, trying to book with me thinking I work for the hotel. This happened twice. I told her what happened and she just giggled thinking it was funny. Eventually she me passed along to another agent and bless his heart, we finally got booked. Overall, the experience was horrible and customer service lacked professionalism.
If you're looking for an upscale private-room hostel in downtown Houston THIS IS IT! The rooms are decent and the showers are large. You don't get towels upon arrival & housekeeping isn't cleaning rooms daily (due to covid-19). There are lots of unusual things going on in the lobby so you'll definitely be entertained every time you leave your room. The escalators in the lobby are brightly lit up but do not work. Halls on floors are VERY SMALL and DIMLY lit. It's a little sketchy for someone staying alone. If you're on a budget and looking for something "hip" (budget backpackers) then this place should work for you. If you're used to a traditional hotel experience and can spend 50+ more keep searching.
Took 17 minutes for the shower to warm up. Then it was burning hot. Turned it down a notch. Freezing cold. My nine year old burned himself. For $100 ! Night the shower should work! Wont be coming back
