We stayed here for a week and absolutely loved it. Firstly, the location is prime being right on the beach and within walking distance of the zoo, multiple parks/restaurants/bars etc. Second, the room was great. Our room had a private balcony with a beautiful view of the park by the zoo (totally worth the extra money) and you can see the beach! Kitchenette was stocked with dishes and utensils, which was greatly appreciated! Third, and most importantly, the staff were so so so kind! Roxy works the front desk some nights and she is the coolest chick. We got in at 10pm after 18 hours on a plane and her happiness, warmth, and energy made all of our frustration melt away. She’s the kind of person you can’t help but smile around, and that’s super important in customer service! I wish I knew the name of the other front desk staff to shout them out, but everyone’s been so warm and kind. 10/10 guys, keep it up!
We are very content with our stay here. We booked through Airbnb with the host named Crystal. Crystal was very helpful in communicating with our experience. The general manager Ron, got us parking in the garage under the hotel for an extra charge which was incredibly helpful. Ron was very nice and Ron and Roxy gave us a free room upgrade to an ocean view with a way bigger space. There was another staff member who worked there that we didn’t get the name of, but he was there a few days of our stay and was incredibly friendly and helpful. The convenience factor was big, we were less than a block from Waikiki beach, right across the street from Honolulu Zoo and right next to an ABC store. There were bath towels and shower amenities in the room as well. This was one of the only cheaper options in the Waikiki area, and definitely got good value if you’re looking for that.
Thank you so much!
Really affordable rates. Really needs a deep clean and fresh furnishings, all the furniture is very used and it shows. Very good location though, next to the zoo and has great views. It's a couple of blocks from the ocean front and beaches making it a prime location. The club is underrated but nice. Hawaii on a budget? This is your place.
We had an amazing stay. The location was top notch, it fit right in our budget, and the employees were nice and incredibly helpful. Due to COVID 19, we are our own cleaners during our stay but we didn't mind that.
The only complaint is the bed. It's really uncomfortable and it almost never had both of us sleep through the night without waking up a few times, and I'm a deep sleeper.
Waikiki Grand Hotel was a very beautiful place, like most. So many places you could visit close by. The people were super nice, overall. The views weren't too bad either.
