Reviews from visitors:
This old style hotel is the best. My buddy Elvie is the absolute bomb. She's super friendly and know her job. She takes care of everyone from locals to mainland tourist. I also wanted to add that she looks good with her new haircut.
Good rates and location. They no longer have stove in rooms. Their website have room pictures including stove which making false impression of the room.
Prepare to pay high price for parking
I haven't stayed there much before and didn't take any pictures on my last stay. There isn't much to the rooms at all. They are pretty big though compared to other rooms that are a bit bigger than my closet at home. This is basically a motel in a fancy neighborhood. It really pays off to check all of the major travel sites to compare prices. You'll be surprised how much more or less you'll end saving with a bit of structured patience. But once you find a good priced room check the fine print because White Sands has a $200 deposit along with resort fees. I also called to check for Kama'aina price (local's discount) It was supposed to be cheaper without the resort fee but it was the same price which I was $128.67 on a Wednesday night. Check out time is early too. 12 noon
It does serve it's purpose tho. It had a nice soft bed. The room was on the ground floor so our bathroom didn't have any barrier for the shower. Just all flat floor. Not too bad tho. Definitely not my first pick for sure but not my last resort either.
Overall, great place to stay. The rooms are reception area are renovated nicely. The hallways do need a little up keep. The front desk was very helpful. They even have beach supplies like towels, umbrellas, go pros, chairs to take (paid for in your price per night). Pool was open also which was nice to tan by! Very fast, easy walk to Waikiki beach and lots of shopping nearby.
Was a decent, cheap place to stay. The reception area was the nicest part of the hotel. The hallways were a bit gross. The rooms were okay, nothing fancy. Strangely enough, our shower had a huge step to get in and the shower head only came to my shoulder (for reference I am 6’1”). The walls were also extremely thin and we were able to hear everything going on in the neighboring room.
