Lovely historic hotel with pleasant staff. Good breakfast selection. Four stars because substandard and expensive drinks in the rooftop bar. I had a long island iced tea which was obviously made with cheap alcohol. My wife had a ginger ale and was presented with a can of Schweppes ginger ale and a glass costing almost $10. Not what you'd expect from a 5 star hotel bar. Stay at the hotel but give the bar a miss.
Nice Bar
Nice rooms with old Indochine style structure. Very nice river view rooftop bar and restaurant. But they installed very model Japanese automated toilet! Great idea!
Just a terrible experience.
At check in they go crazy about money. I must pay for the room before I can stay. I find out my wife has also paid.
And little men running around scared with a thermometer. Ok fist time in check my health. But every 5 minutes. Come on I go out for a coffee come back recheck. Go to dinner come back recheck
And when I have a deposit for the room I had to sign it. They take my money and I sign. Not the staff. And I am told if I lose the paper I don’t get my money
The room is nice the location great. But because of the very poor panicked staff I would definitely not come back. And I certainly cannot recommend when there are similar options with better staff
Make me feel like time travelling back to SG in the past, very interesting feeling
