Reviews from visitors:
oh well, My wife and I stayed in this hotel for four nights in Nov 2019. This is a historic Hotel and yes, it is nice in that sense, however, quite frankly, the room was not good and it was smelling like mold and had outdated bathroom. You could also easily hear the next room activities, ;). It is a unique Hotel which lots of Politicians and celebs have visited there and you just might want to see it or stay there because of that.
The outdoor has a great environment and every thing was good. I would rate the Hotel itself like 3 stars not 5.
It is better to exchange your money also some where else rather than inside the Hotel as it is expensive to exchange there.
The hotel is outstanding!
The staff is super friendly and extremely helpful.
I had never eaten a pineapple tastiert than those on the 6th floor during breakfast.
You can change money easily in the hotel. On one corner you can check the history of the hotel an immerse in its dept.
Legendary historical property in Havana; the amount of history here and preserved. Super sophisticated classy staff. The Cuban rum is always flowing and one of the most famous cigar rooms in the world.
The stately Hotel Nacional in Cuba has a storied history: Overlooking the seawall, it’s been the destination of a who’s-who of flashy guests from Winston Churchill to Frank Sinatra to Naomi Campbell. It was also a favorite of mobsters, once serving as a venue for the infamous Mafia summit later depicted in The Godfather Part II. During the Cuban Missile Crisis, Fidel Castro and Che Guevara used the hotel as headquarters to prepare against an aerial attack and today, trenches and tunnels on the grounds built by the Cuban Army to serve as a bunker now house an exhibition on the crisis, serving as an immersive history lesson.
This hotel is world famous and hundreds of celebs have stayed here. The lobby and common areas are fabulous but the rooms are shabby and are long overdue for renovation. The rooms wouldn’t earn 3 stars in the U.S. At a price of over $200 a night, this hotel is way overpriced. The service was far better at every other hotel we stayed at in Cuba. My recommendation is to come have a drink but stay somewhere else.
