Best place about this place is the water pressure in the shower and how steaming hot the water gets.Snooty ,short and not very friendly front desk staff. We made our reservations through third part site and was not allowed to check until 4 pm like the reservation stated. We had just completed a non stop trip to get to our hotel and wanted to check in about 45 min early. The front desk staff went out the way to make sure our room was not ready until 4 pm. Valets were super friendly and very attentive to our needs and it always helps when a gratuity is involved .The rooms are tiny and little dated but overall the Hotel is very nice .Wish the front desk attendant was more helpful and attentive to our needs while not being rude .
Good hotel over all!! However, I found the rooms to be outdated and a bit small. None of their rooms have balconies which, is a let down when you are going to the ocean. Me and my daughter did arrive early for check in. The room was not ready but, they did allow us to use the facilities while waiting which I liked. I also valet my car while staying. There is some work to be done with the valet. Although they took my car and parked it etc. They never once helped to load or unload the car instead they just stood there and waited for us. Now, I valet alot and I know this is not how valet works and for $20 a day my expectation is that they should be helping us to load and unload. Bring us the cart for luggage not us having to find one. So, valet needs plenty of help!!! The pool experience was great!!!. Everyone was doing their very best to accommodate to each person's needs while, also keeping it clean and maintained.
My husband and I were gifted a two night stay for our 48th Anniversary by family and we must say this hotel is five star in all area's. We first checked in with a lovely employee named Jan. Jan was extremely helpful with providing brochures for events, tours and all we asked about even extra coffee. In conversation we told her this was our anniversary trip and later while in our room we received a complimentary bottle of champagne in a silver bucket with ice and two beautiful champagne glasses along with a lovely note from Jan. We so appreciate Jan and must say she made us feel quite special! All employee's were extremely nice in all area's of this beautiful Hotel.
You can feel the historical history and must visit the lower level of the hotel as it has so many pictures of this hotel back in the early 1900's to compare the now with then. They have nicely preserved the hotel as it was back then. The food was delicious, the rooms beautiful and beds so comfortable. If you were entering the hotel or leaving the hotel two people were opening the doors for you.
You are treated as though you are royalty throughout your entire stay!
Five Star All The Way!!!"

Love this hotel! Stayed with my sister & grand daughter, first night we had knocks on the door 3 times, no one was there?? Love ghost stuff so we kind of liked it! Staff was awesome hey told us all about the hotel. Don’t forget to go downstairs and look at the history very interesting. We will be back! Boo!
Had drinks at the hotel bar. Was a very nice atmosphere with soft, live music playing and the service was good. They have very flexible seating for the bar area with both tables and couches. Also checked out the hall of history they had downstairs and it was a neat way to learn about Galveston's history!
