Kudos to Tracy at the front desk!! Made reservations online to escape the historic snowstorm, when we arrive there was a line of about 30 other evacuees. She handled the crowd quickly, and with a smile. She showed extreme grace under pressure. Over the next few days of our stay, she was always there, and always had the best attitude. You are lucky to have Tracy in your employment. She is a jewel!
NOT PET FRIENDLY! We chose this specific hotel because it showed up on La Quinta’s website as pet friendly, and offered a military discount. I even called 10 days prior to our trip to make the reservation and spoke with the front desk because I wanted to be sure 1)they would accept our very friendly, well behaved, fur baby, and 2) that the pool was open because my daughter loves to swim. I was told yes to both. So we make the 7 hour drive to Galveston just to be greeted as soon as we walk in with a “no pets allowed” sign. No exceptions, even if you are TOLD by a member of their staff you can bring your pet with you. (They also ask for certification for a service dog, which is AGAINST ADA LAW, but that’s a whole different tangent I’m not going to get into) So at 9pm at night during spring break I have to scramble to find a place for me and my two minor children to stay. Shout out to the front desk clerk Josh who did everything he could to find us a pet friendly place to spend the night until I could find other arrangements for the other 4 days of our trip. Seems the whole island of Galveston isn’t as “pet friendly” as all their websites claim they are.
Let me tell you about Rosie!!! She was amazing, I had an issue with a previous hotel that I had booked and found myself 10 hrs away from home with out a room for the weekend and she got me set up with what I needed and on the budget I was on!! She provided me with great service and was so understanding!!! The hotel itself is brand new and really pretty and walking distance to the beach and right next golden corral and other restaurants and Walmart, great location. Will book again next visit.
We had a great time and i am glad we stay here staff very nice and friendly the room was very clean too.
Booked a week in advance, called 30 minutes prior to check in to ensure our rooms were available for check in (we traveled far). Arrived to friendly staff (Bobby), however, room was filthy! It’s COVID season and we walked in to bed sheets and trash everywhere. So disappointing and disgusting. Housekeeping came to clean (not wearing a mask) which is against state mandate. I brought my own cleaning supplies so I did what I could as well. All front desk could do was give me a card with manager’s email and say sorry. I am totally disgusted because this was our first family vacation with our daughter. Following precautionary guidelines for guest is not that hard. I honestly wanted to leave but didn’t want to ruin our trip. I can’t complain abt the brown sack breakfast at all. We love Laquita/Wyndham but you guys have to do better. We’ll try again soon but goodness, please have the rooms cleaned for your guests!!!!!
