Great location if you don't mind partying and loud environment it is kid friendly. Directly across the street from the seawall a couple doors down from Joe's Crab shack. It is definitely The happening spot. Although the hotel rooms are pretty much for sleeping only no microwaves or floors were not swept just felt grimy had a funky odor going on but location and view phenomenal.
This is a terrible derelict hotel. When we arrived our key card did not work in the door and they moved us to another room. In the other room we discovered that the ceiling tiles were pushed back in the bathroom ceiling exposing the pipes. When we finally got settled in our room we stayed there for about an hour and my wife told me hey the door is opening and we realized that one of their maintenance people had just walked into our room. When he realized we were in there he turned and started going down the outdoor hallway very quickly and I had to chase him down. I.showed him the tiles in the ceiling that were pushed back he did nothing about it. We quickly realized he was not there to fix anything and he knew nothing about work that was going on in the room . There was also no remote control for the tv. Now I realize why they have you sign a release when you check in that they are not responsible for anything that is stolen from your room. I was afraid to leave my wife in the hotel room alone. And we definitely didn’t leave anything valuable in our hotel room after that encounter. The room was dirty there was some kind of a gross film on the electric clock in the room definitely something you would not want to touch. Next time we’ will spend the extra $50 and stay in a nice hotel. We will not be returning to the Commodore. When we went to check in they did not have our reservation and we could not get a king bed we had to sleep in two separate beds. I would not suggest this as a safe hotel to have your family in. The walls we’re completely falling apart there was gaps where you could put your hand between the wall and the ceiling. The room was literally falling apart. The place is old and appears to have the original tile from when the hotel was built which was a very long time ago. The toilet was in the corner of the bathroom which was a weird place for it to sit. The shower pan in the shower was some kind of a old half bath tub I’ve never seen before. This hotel is in dire need of an update. I do not consider myself a fancy person but there was a lot of things that were wrong with this place. The maintenance guy told me that they had new owners and that they had yelled at him and he said that he wasn’t sure if you wanted to work there any longer. Hopefully they’ll get enough reviews and the new owners will take notice how the place is run and fix some things. The lady at the front desk when we arrived was annoyed that our reservations were not in her computer and there was four people in line to check in that there was no reservation for that had made reservations online. She started to completely lose it and if the other staff member had not come in to help her we would have just left and stayed somewhere else. There was a nice view out of the window but sitting in a filthy hotel room really killed the mood. The only saving grace for us was that there were plenty of restaurants and places that we could go spend our time in and try to spend the least amount of time at the hotel. I just want to say thanks for a terrible experience on my birthday hope you guys can get it together.
We reserved 2 rooms. When we got there only one was reserved, luckily they had a second available. The water was ice cold in the showers so they switched us rooms. Once again the water was ice cold. They told us basically we could check out. They weren’t concerned about fixing it. The rooms were clean kinda. The pool was filthy. The office area was hot and smelled musky. The whole motel is just run down. For 250 a night, your basically paying for the view, because the motel is definitely not worth it!
In all seriousness - this place has seen its better days. The only good thing about it is the location and the fact you open the sliding door and you are looking right out on Seawall Blvd and the Gulf of Mexico. The rooms all smell like old shoes with perfume sprayed in them. They should use a bit less Fabulouso in the rooms and maybe something to kill the mold that seems to abound. It really needs a serious overhaul.
This is more of a motel than anything else. The towels were stained, there was someone eyeglasses on the couch, and no hot water. For a quick stay it’s alright, but you should probably look at other options first. Bed was not comfortable at all. I guess you really pay for the view.
