Reviews from visitors:
The room was ok for a couple no kids. The room was very very small. It was nice til it got to the evening part. It got very stuffy and hot. We had to reach out to they to control the A.C. Which it is not worth staying there for that price. Then when we told them they said it was at 62 which I know it wasn’t cause we had tossed and turned all night and had to shower twice just to try and keep cool. This place sure does know how to sell itself. We couldn’t stay one more night cause obviously they weren’t going to fix the problem. So we lost out on a night there. I would like for them to go and stay the night in room 4 and see how we felt. I even told them that it didn’t feel like 62 and was ignored. Maybe it was 62 through the whole house but never in that room. Upon arriving the shower had hair in the corners and have pics to show. The housekeeping has no customer service experience at all never said hello. Just rude as hell. The ac never turned on in our room. When we opened the room door I could feel the coolness coming from the hallway. When we packed to leave another couple said they we got as well, so I don’t know how they claim it was cool. Anyways I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone!
We just did a little staycation from our home in Houston and we loved our stay here. For those of you not sure what you’re getting, it is a large house with code-access rooms. It’s basically like a mini apartment building. It’s a bedroom and a bathroom. Very well done, quality construction. Extremely clean room, bed was very comfortable and cozy. You can tell the owner of the building really cares to make it a good experience. Safe area, GREAT location to the strand (close but away from all the noise) and not far from the sea wall either. Thank you Domum de Vencè!
I booked Domum de Vence not knowing what to expect. After all, it's not a hotel. It's more of a rooming house. When we arrived, I didn't received my instructions on arriving to Domum de Vence; or at least I thought I didn't. Actually, I didn't expect to received anything except my receipt for the room. I thought someone was going to be there to greet us. As I said, I didn't know what to expect. The place was quite. But our bathroom was very small. No extra mirrors or no peep-hole on the door. The room had no clothes furniture or even a suitcase stand. And, especially not emergency signs or diagrams. It did have plenty of detectors for smoke and CM. We loved the common area and the coffee (That was good coffee!). Overall, Domum de Vence was a great stay. I liked it because it's away from the night life of the Strand and beach front. We also like it because we were by the Historical neighborhood. We would defiantly stay there again.
It’s a really cute space. My boyfriend and I came for a weekend and thought we booked a hotel, but instead we found a renovated house with access codes. Very cozy and cute, only complaint is the shower does not have a door and the bathroom floor gets soaked.
We loved it! The bed was blissfully comfortable, the decor was chic, and the room was peaceful, fresh and incredibly clean. It's in a neat neighborhood super close to the beach and within walking distance of great food and shopping. The shower was super roomy, perfect for cleaning up after a day at the beach. It was such a quiet refreshing stay, and the modern locks made getting into our rooms so simple but we also felt extremely secure. The best part is how affordable it is, especially for the quality. We plan to stay here every time we visit Galveston.
