Clean room & friendly staff! The rooms are very nice with comfortable beds and pillows. I’m always happy when the shampoo and conditioner are salon quality products- especially when you’ve been in salt water... these are by Paul Mitchell. The pool has a nice vibe with cabanas and music. My only complaint is that is difficult to cross the street to get to the beach. There are no stop lights close or cross walks.
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. The front desk staff were so helpful and nice. The pool was clean and my kids had so much fun. Will definitely be back The next time we visit.
The staff and hotel were very accommodating to me and my family, especially at such a stressful time due to terrible weather. Although they couldn't provide us with a room at first, they provided us with heat, electricity, roll out beds, and even some complementary products so we wouldn't have to spend the night in a cold and powerless house. They were the gift that kept on giving because they were able to get us a room as soon as one opened and provided it to us for the rest of our stay in Texas. I've never been met with as much hospitality and endless kindness as I have here at this hotel. The staff were so kind and friendly, again especially at a very stressful time for majority of state due to the weather. I very very highly recommend staying here, because you'll only be met with such kindness, understanding, and hospitality!
We stayed at this hotel at the end of December 2020. We were at breakfast and ordered pancakes for children. We were with another family, 4 adults and 4 children in total. Everything was fine and we got 2 adults and 2 children’s breakfasts. One of the breakfasts contained bacon, which I asked not to add before ordering, and the waiter politely took the food and said they would change it. I thanked her and after a while brought me my dish (as it turned out later, he just pulled out all the bacon and brought me the same dish). We sat further and conducted our conversations and another waiter came out and asked, I want to draw your attention to the fact that he asked us if we were expecting more breakfasts, we replied that we were still expecting 2 children's and 2 adults' breakfasts. Then, after a few minutes, this man came very close to me, and poking me with two checks in my face, said that these breakfasts are in another check, and we should wait, he was very rude and caught us by surprise, since no one expected such a reaction, after all, we did not complain, and did not present any claim (besides the fact that they added bacon to my breakfast, which I asked not to add and they politely offered to replace it) either to him or to anyone else.
After this incident, a manager came and said that this was not their policy. No one apologized. The manager promised that he would cross breakfast off our bill, but all he crossed out was a tip. I also indicated to the manager that the food they "remade" for me was the same, and showed him the bacon bits on my plate.
If you do not want to be yelled at and at the same time not get any apologies, then choose any other hotel.
We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. When we checked in, Brooklyn was there to greet us and she was so kind and welcoming. On our last night (New Year’s Eve), we were playing card games in the lobby with some friends and she went above and beyond to help us have an amazing night. Thank you Marriott for hiring such an amazing employee!
