This gorgeous mansion was our overall best choice for our spring break vacation. The staff really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent (quiche, biscuits & sausage gravy, fruit and yogurt cups, pastries) with complimentary drinks on the veranda in the evening. A real jewel of a place!
This is an excellent B and B. Tammy & Coralyn are professional and accommodating. They really want your stay to be a great one. Every evening there are bottles of nice wine and a selection of beers for your enjoyment. Breakfast was not what I expected. I figured it would be a danish and coffee. They exceeded my expectations. quiche, bacon, muffins, biscuits, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt parfait, coffee, teas, juices. It's all included in the price. Very comfortable beds, deep claw-foot (steeping) bathtubs. The towels are thick and luxurious. The front porch just begs you to sit on the comfy furniture and just be. The house is a short walk to downtown and the strand. The house and the staff will keep you coming back. If I could give it more stars I would.
My husband and I went here for our anniversary and I can not wait to go back! The room we received was room 1 in the Yellow house (can't think of the name for our room), it was HUGE! There was also a private balcony that looks onto the back yard and blue house which also is available for booking. Everything was clean and the staff extremely friendly. There are no appliances in the room so our leftovers from our anniversary was eaten once we arrived back to the room - there is a microwave downstairs in the dining area. Tea and coffee are available 24/7 and the wine bar was available around 3pm which was nice. It's also minutes from the beach so that was a plus too. As stated earlier; I can not wait to come back.
Really beautiful rooms and staff is awesome. Lots of history here and man, if these walls could talk!! Will be back for sure. Breakfast was delicious. Would like more info on the history of the homes/mansions.
We've stayed here several times and we love being immersed in the charm of the late 1800's! The house is old, beautiful and has so many stories to tell, some even tragic. The creak sounds that the floors make reminds you of just how rustic and slecial this place is. 3 stories, beautiful architecture...must have been a wealthy family that lived in it so long ago.
Two blocks from the Strand and a mile from the beach. Great place!
