One the the best hotel I ever stayed at for the price cant beat it. Loved fukuoka and staying at Webase hotel. Made the experience and our stay so much nicer. Very hospitable, quiet and comfortable. Also beautiful art piece in and outside of the building very cool.
Happily spent four nights here and was sad to leave. Better than some hotels I've stayed at. Beds are a little harder by western standards, but that is normal here in Japan. Great facilities and friendly staff made for a wonderful stay in Fukuoka. I look forward to trying WeBase hostels in Hiroshima and Kyoto later on this trip. Highly recommended
Booked 3 days and 2 nights for my Fukuoka stay, but had to cancel due to COVID-19. I emailed them hoping they would at least give me a half refund instead of full refund, but they refused and not helpful at all. I am well aware that my booking are not refundable if I cancel it. Pretty upset because for a big hostel company in Japan you would expect a better customer service. Other hostels in Japan automatically refund me due to pandemic but they wouldn't, like are you expecting me to come to Japan when pandemic is happening? I would totally understand if I cancel for other unreasonable reason or no show than a pandemic. Fine, take my $48. Horrible customer service. Never going to book at this hostel for my Japan trip.
UPDATE: the owner responded back to me and to clarify my trip to Japan was suppose to be from March 9 to April 7 and I booked a room for March 25-27 and I asked for a cancellation on February 21st. COVID-19 was already spreading around Asia at that time so I decided to cancel my trip to Japan for safety reason. I emailed them and they told me word by word, "Thank you for booking with us. We are sorry that we can not refund you. According to the special cancel policy for the coronavirus by Booking.com, you are not able to be refunded. Unless you are living in China. Hope you can understand. Best regards from our team, WeBase HAKATA Lai" WELL OK, take my money. So, I had to contact my bank to dispute the payment. ANYHOW, just don't book this hostel unless you're like 100% sure you're safe to go and nothing can stop you including pandemic and that you're going for sure. They really don't care about your safety.

I booked a room in advance before the covid 19 situation started.
When WHO announced it as an epidemic, i couldnt travel to japan anymore. Even the airline cancelled my flight.
I explained the situation to the room but they refused let me cancel the booking and refused any form of refund.
They pushed the responsibility to booking.com and asked me to get a refund from booking which of course is not the right channel for that.
I am a frequent visitor of japan. This is only time this hotel will make this money from me.
I will never ever book any room with this hotel.
By far the best hostel i’ve stayed at! The subway is located near the hostel and everything you need is in walking distance! The staff is very friendly and attention is given to all the small details (yummy bread is offered to guests every morning) just makes this place a cut above other places! All the facilities were also very clean. Next time we are back in Fukuoka, we are staying at WeBase for sure!
