This hotel reminds me the old school vocation rentals of my childhood. Back in the days our family and friends rented something similar - a small house with a cozy backyard where the little tables and chairs were hiding in a lush greenery. You could hear the birds singing their songs in the morning and count stars at night. And the days were so long, and peaceful and full of fun. This resort is a time machine. But it’s not outdated. No worries. Our room was renovated, very clean and well equipped. The stuff was friendly and we really enjoyed our short getaway that turned into a sort of a flashback
This property is a small compound of buildings located about a mile south of Times Square but only a block from the beach. The buildings are older but fairly well maintained. We stayed in Seahorse on the ground floor. The interior had been nicley updated and it was clean. They also provided some nice provisions like, coffee and filters, sugars, paper towels, beach chairs and towels and nice dishes. Some places nickel and dime you for those items. The exteriors could use a touch up and some basic cleaning would help. The touchpad on the door was filthy. The toilet also took a long time to refill between flushes, which can be embarrassing with couples sharing a bathroom.
Overall for the price it was a good place to stay. The staff was friendly when we checked in and Rolland, the owner, communicated well when we had questions. The check in office is on School St. was not well marked and was pretty simple but effective.
Nice setup. More of a family place than the partying hotels closer to the bridge. Lots of games in the nice outdoor area.
Excellent location, very clean, plenty of space for 5 adults. Everything you need and more. Heating the pool would make this place the best on the Island!!!
Older place. Very affordable. Very close to public beach access.
