The perfect place to escape from the crowded city of Florence. Situated next to the Arno, this historic mill is an oasis of calm rest and style. A very nice outdoor swimming pool in a very lovely garden. There is an outstanding restaurant. The staff is wonderful ! This is a must visit place ! Free shuttle to the city.
The hotel, grounds, and accommodations were wonderful. Staff was responsive to any requests regarding amenities or shuttle. Restaurant was great for breakfasts, providing an extensive selection of food (buffet style) and beverages were served by staff. Had what I expected to be a very special dinner one night and received a well done rack of lamb. Meat was gray, no pink at all and dry. Staff didn't come back shortly after serving to ask how everything was so I ate it (not wanting to interrupt the flow at my table and thinking the next cut or chop would be better). I was asked at clearing of the table, and told the waiter who responded appropriately and told the chef, but then there was no response or apology from the chef or anyone. My mistake was accepting the food and eating it but I also kept thinking I would cut into a properly cooked chop at the next cut. Restaurant presents as fine dining but the only thing upscale about my food was the price. I will say, there was one waiter throughout my stay that went over and above one night I ordered room service. I'm sorry I never got his name but he was a younger man probably in his 30's.
I looked at over a hundred hotels to stay at in Florence before I decided on this hotel. The Mulino di Firenze is one of a kind. It's on the outskirts of the city so it affords you a chance to slow down from the hustle that the city can be. Get "a room with a view" of the river and ask about the hotel's history. It's a converted watermill that dates back to 1350.
Great scenic spot with great food nearby. Friendly staff and a great room. Definitely recommend.
I cannot fault Hotel Mulino Firenze in anything. From start to finish, our stay was brilliant. They have the most helpful staff I have ever come across. All staff members were friendly and always went the extra mile.
I will definitely return to this hotel.
