We had a wonderful experience at the Duchess. Luca was a wonderful host and made us feel incredibly welcome and he honestly made sure we were taken care of and gave us tips to make the most of the day. To put it this way, one day he had given us directions to get to the highway. When we were getting on the road and trying to make sense of the directions, I noticed that he actually decided to follow us and make sure we were, in fact, going the right way. Really great host.
The room we stayed at was wonderful and quaint, and very relaxing. We never felt crowded or anything. Everything was clean and well-kept and we were really relaxed there. Plus - the capuccino there was, as you'd expect, great.
CONS: If I had to name a con, I'd say location. It's a little far out from Florence proper, but close to highway options. For us, it wasn't that big of a deal as we wanted to enjoy both the city and Tuscany, but for those wanting one of the other, it's location might make it challenging. Secondly, I wish their laundry service was a little cheaper!
But overall, by far, a great experience and a great host.
Very nice lodging in the country just out of Florence. The house has been restored a few years ago and now there is also a swimming pool in the garden. The owner is very helpful, a good cook and speaks foreign languages.
A lovely bed and breakfast. The proprietor was wonderful and very helpful with all inquiries!
Great stay with a really friendly host. Would love to visit again next year!
