Right in the heart of the Historic Centre! Gorgeous!
This is a beautiful old house, a rich merchant's house, with a decorated front portico, a gorgeous interior patio, a sumptuous public lounge, and a dozen or so rooms.
Don't beieve the one star rating, this is pure elegance, not a messy flop-house.
It's tricky to find - you will need to find the Calle Vera Cruz on Google Maps and print it off. Up a slightly sloping street with lovely green flowerpots, and within hailing distance of the Parish Church.
It's not a pedestrianised street (although there is very little traffic) so it means that a taxi can drive up and drop you and your suitcases right in front of the hotel.
Its main negative is that it closes down for a period in winter (at least it has up to now - I can't speak for the future, it may change), and worse, they therefore don't always ( or nearly never . . .) answer the phone or reply to e-mails in this period.
This means that if in January, say, when they are closed, you want to book for April, when they are open, it feels as though you can't. Don't despair - just book via an on-line agency such as Booking.com or similar.
My apologies for the late review. We had a rough time after our return and therefore forgot a bit. Nevertheless, we definitely want to post a review because we had a wonderful stay and a great time with you. A beautiful room, delicious food in a romantic setting .. nothing was too much for you, even babysitting our dog while we could explore the area.

Spectacular. Very clean, very well located and with all the comforts. The treatment of the woman who treated us very good, was very friendly. We will repeat without a doubt and at a very good price.

All along one side of the pretty Plaza de las Flores in Estepona they have built a brand-new hotel with an extremely handsome façade.
It is magnificent, with so many little details to catch your attention. All done in typical Andalusian style, it is superb.
On the roof there are domes, one with a statue on top with an angel blowing a horn of glory.
On the façade there are decorative stonework pieces.
One shows an ancient coat-of arms with the words Casa Señorial 1750. This obviously refers to the Knight or Gentleman who built a house here in years past.
Over the front door, between two magnificent pillars, is the hotel name - Hotel El Pilar Andalucía carved on a slab of, again, that stone.
Very impressive outside, and beautifully decorated inside, with generously-sized rooms with all the amenities one expects in a 4-star hotel.
Top of the range 4 star, I reckon. Its restaurants and bars may give the local competition a run for their money, so they'd better watch out.
With the pandemic still in full spate, there is currently no date set publicly for the hotel to open

Great views and a 15 min walk to the ocean. The owner is great and accommodating and his dog is friendly and well mannered. I would definitely come back...even if just to busted his dog!!

A fun and interesting experience to spend with the children. The cabin was comfortable, the views good, the area very nice and quiet. The correct breakfast in a special environment such as the green lake. Highly recommended We were in the town that is outside the park, but very close at the same time. friendly and attentive staff. Great pool.
This is an excellent boutique hotel with impeccable service. It is spotlessly clean with up-to-date amenities. The hotel is in a good location between Estepona and San Luis de Sabinillas, and just five minutes from the beach.
I was lucky enough to photograph a wedding at Villa Padierna and found the hotel to be truly stunning. The décor is luxurious and service was perfect. The outdoor areas were also beautiful and made for some perfect spaces to photograph in.

An absolutely gorgeous hotel with great dining.
This is The Top in Estepona. Nowhere else can beat it for the quality of the rooms, the fabulous service, the meal experience (although it is not Spanish food but top-notch, if over-elaborate sometimes international cuisine) and the gorgeous gardens.
It is situated a 40 minute walk (along the Senda Litoral coastal path) from Estepona Old Town. Except early morning, or in winter, take a taxi instead - there are usually a couple outside the front door; if not, Reception will call one for you.
The beach is nothing to write home about, but the pools are very good, and although the Puro Beach Club in the Laguna Village, 4 minutes away, was burnt to the ground with the rest of the Village on 29 August 2020, it is all due to be rebuilt.
Meanwhile, pop into Estepona and buy beach shoes that can be worn in the water. You can get these at any "chino" - ask the taxi driver to drop you off in front of the one on the Avenida Litoral near the bus station. But remember that it's closed for lunch 2-5.
The experience at the Kempinski is first rate - I have never been disappointed here.

8th visit. Beautiful grounds with orange trees and immaculate lawns. Well maintained pool. Overlooks the beach and marina in Estepona. Gated community with lovely holiday properties. Within walking distance of old town and lovely bay. No need for a car.
In a really nice setting, but not too far from town. Owner Dieter is a lovely gentleman and gives plenty of advice about Estepona. Would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it.
