1 Radisson Blu Hotel, Edinburgh City Centre

A nice hotel. Room was clean and comfy. A little basic but good enough for my needs. Staff were very polite. I would stay there again. very reasonable price. Good location, just 2 minutes walk from town Centre. will be staying again post covid 19.
2 The Inn On The Mile

images
Lovely staff. On the corner of the Royal Mile/North bridge. Plenty food choices, nice atmosphere. Modern, good decor. Nice place to get a tea/coffee, breakfast, lunch or just a small something to eat. Centrally located and staff friendly, polite and constantly checked if ok and if we would like anything else.
3 The Scotsman

images
We were lucky enough to have our 'wee wedding' at the Scotsman Hotel - and they truly were instrumental in making it just the perfect day for us. We were treated like royalty from the moment we walked through the door. Every element of our stay was perfect, with the Scotsman team going above and beyond at every turn. The service, amenities, rooms, luxury feel, and location were five star. From the warm welcomes, attention to detail, infinite patience, and consummate professionalism, it was a superb experience. Perfect stay to celebrate a very special occasion.

The good points
Hotel is very central to the old town, only a five minute walk from Waverley Station. The hotel is very clean and modern and they have good covid precautions. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the room was large and we had a great shower and lovely bath, overall we were happy with our room.
The not so good points
The Scottish breakfast is not really what I expected, the sausages were full of herbs and the tomatoes were covered in garlic and herbs, it was more like an Italian version of a Scottish breakfast, ok but not for me. The wait for breakfast was long, usually 30-40 minutes (this was with only about 10 people in the area seated for breakfast so it was not what you would call busy) , even on the third day when I asked for 2 poached eggs with a slice of bread, it just took ages. They had no yogurt and the fruit bowl I got consisted of apple, a few grapes and a very black banana. They also had no fresh orange.
I felt as if there were very few staff in the hotel, this may have been due to Covid/furlough etc. but I just felt as if there was something lacking. The hotel is lovely with great views from the bar and I cannot fault the staff, I just think that someone needs to be more responsible for making sure you do not run out of the basics on the menu, fresh orange and yogurt are pretty much a standard thing on the breakfast menu, if you are going to advertise it, then make sure you have it - we sat down to breakfast at 9am every morning and it was quiet, so I have no idea how they ran out of items and took so long to make breakfast. All in all, a good hotel if you want to be central to things, a few minor tweaks and it could be really good
5 Cheval Old Town Chambers

Friendly service great staff, excellent rooms and a great location.
6 Stay Central Hotel

images
The room was lovely, nice bed, TV and shower. The breakfast that was included was great with a lot of different options. The location is perfect for exploring Edinburgh and all the staff were really friendly. It can be a bit noisy at times but we still managed to sleep fine.
7 Motel One

images
Amazing staff that couldn't do enough for you! Friendly too! They went above and beyond to help me with my daughter's wedding, where we both stayed. I really think this hotel should be treated a lot higher. The rooms were exceptionally cleaned and the views were lovely. I also stopped in a local top hotel but ironically preferred Motel One! Thank you all for a wonderful stay and for all your help!
8 Fraser Suites Edinburgh

images
Fabulous stay at frazer suites, beds were amazing, clean and comfortable suite. Excellent location right next to the royal mile. The staff ,especially Marianna, went out of her way to accommodate us. Will definitely come back. Reasonable prices also. We had dinner in hotel restaurant, nice quality and good service.
9 The Balmoral

A beautiful hotel located in the heart of the city. EVERYTHING is within walking distance. Princess Street to The Royal Mile, The Witchery by the Castle (restaurant), bars, bars and more bars! The perfect "home base" to explore and the concierge desk will help make arrangements for just about anything. Go, enjoy, explore then relax!

We stayed in Number 29 which was a lovely suite, the beds were comfy and it had everything we needed to cook and chill out. Would highly recommend.
11 Radisson Collection Hotel, Royal Mile Edinburgh

Won of the best places I've stayed in. Rooms are one of a kind. And the price is very good. I would come here again... a 5 star for me
12 Apex Waterloo Place Hotel

images
Great hotel in an excellent location. Just 5 minutes walk from Waverley station just off Princes Street. Perfect for the shops and bars etc. We found it very quiet which was ideal as the hustle and bustle of edinburgh is literally minutes away. Xmas market no more then 5-7 minutes away. We've stayed twice now and stayed in a standard room. Both rooms are a good size Breakfast is good, both continental and cooked.
13 Hotel Indigo Edinburgh - Princes Street

Great place in an amazing town! Parking is limited but we parked at the train station which is across the road for a reasonable price. Staff were lovely and friendly, all meals were fabulous! Could not recommend enough!
14 Motel One Edinburgh Princes

Perfect location in the old town, easy to be reached by tram or bus directly from the airport, near the shopping area, good service and cosy bar.
15 Hotel du Vin Edinburgh

images
The hotel is located in a great spot in the Old Town. Very easy to walk everywhere.
The staff are really friendly and accommodating.
The rooms are really comfortable and well appointed although our air con was not working and the picture on our TV was distorted at time. But that didn't spoil our stay.
Some of the rooms are a fair walk from the lifts and stairs due to the fact that the building has been expanded over the years, something to keep in mind if you are not able to walk long distances.
Breakfast was good although I would have preferred if it was presented as buffet. You had to ask for items on the menu rather than help yourself which make it a little less relaxed.
16 Cheval The Edinburgh Grand

images
The Cheval Edinburgh Grand is right up there in my holiday experiences. We came away for an impromptu school holiday getaway complete with both kids and the dog.
The kids had a room to themselves with and the rooms we had came with en-suites so that once the kids were in bed, the grownups could enjoy a bottle of wine and a quite conversation without fear of waking the kids.
The hotel bang in the centre of town situated at St Andrews Square. It is dog friendly and there was even a dog bed and bowls waiting for us in our room. The rooms are absolutely fantastic, well designed , well appointed and stocked with pretty much everything you might want.
The service is second to none. Ben Currie deserves a special mention as does Tiziana for making our stay extra special.
17 Grassmarket Hotel

images
This is an old building re-design in a funky modern style. Once we entered the lobby, we fall in love with this hotel.
Our family group of four, had a big room with four single beds. Plenty of room for our four big suitcases. The room was extremely clean. The bed was super comfy.
We loved the dandy comic wallpaper and a giant street map of the local area on the another side of the wall in our room too.
The location is unbeatable, so many eateries and local shops nearby.
We had a breakfast in the bar next door. It was fantastic.
Definitely will stay again when we’re going back to Edinburgh.
Note:
1. They provide tunnock tea cakes in our room everyday. Thank you for that
2. Takes around 15 - 20 minutes by walking or £ 4.00 by taxi/uber from Edinburgh Waverly Station to this hotel.
3. Wear comfy shoes since the road is hilly.
18 The Witchery by the Castle

images
We had a wonderful romantic lunch at The Witchery before leaving Edinburgh. It’s a very intimate space with dark lighting even in the day. The staff were super attentive and the food was amazing. We’d definitely go for a nice dinner next time we’re in the city. Dress was casual during the day but we felt a little underdressed in just a button down and jeans all the same. The space is fancy and you’ll want to be too.
19 Le Monde Hotel

Lovely venue, perfect location and the staff are amazing given the challenging times we are in
20 ibis Styles Edinburgh St Andrew Square

Stayed for a bonus break and have only good things to say about the hotel, the restaurant and the staff.
Friendly and welcoming staff.
Room was perfect; large, comfortable, great shower, amazing toiletries, really comfortable bed and really nicely decorated. :)
The views from the balcony fabulous. The food, the drinks were all good
Staff were relaxed, knowledgeable Always nice when someone makes the time to have a little chat and shares a bit about themselves. Makes the visit feel more personal.
Thank you to everyone. Would love to return.
