We were lucky enough to have our 'wee wedding' at the Scotsman Hotel - and they truly were instrumental in making it just the perfect day for us. We were treated like royalty from the moment we walked through the door. Every element of our stay was perfect, with the Scotsman team going above and beyond at every turn. The service, amenities, rooms, luxury feel, and location were five star. From the warm welcomes, attention to detail, infinite patience, and consummate professionalism, it was a superb experience. Perfect stay to celebrate a very special occasion.
Food was spot on, absolutely no complaints. Just a shame the service was slow. Waited 10 minutes to be seated when no one was waiting (with half the place with open tables) and then waited 20 minutes more to hand our orders taken.
We only visited the restaurant, which was great. Did you know that for tea you can have gin instead of tea? Very helpful waitstaff informed us of this important fact. Food was great, cocktails were great.
Booked superior double. We got an odd shaped room but it was ok-just. Bathroom was great but there were things missing from amenities listed. Iron was absent and there was no milk for making a cup of tea. However there were ghd hair straighteners which were very much appreciated.
Breakfast was ok. Staff very attentive and friendly.
One issue we had related to room key and the electrics. A time delay between removing room key from the and lights going out would have helped us get out of the room without stumbling around trying to find the door.
Well worth the price . We got the executive suite and the room was laid out beautifully. 60inch TV and a comfy bed . Good customer service and staff have excellent customer service . The bathroom was laid out well too. Location is good as it is 1 minute away from Edinburgh train station
