1 The Rutland Hotel

We stayed here for two nights and had a great stay. Lovely big room and very clean. Staff are really friendly and helpful.
2 Hotel du Vin Edinburgh

The hotel is located in a great spot in the Old Town. Very easy to walk everywhere.
The staff are really friendly and accommodating.
The rooms are really comfortable and well appointed although our air con was not working and the picture on our TV was distorted at time. But that didn't spoil our stay.
Some of the rooms are a fair walk from the lifts and stairs due to the fact that the building has been expanded over the years, something to keep in mind if you are not able to walk long distances.
Breakfast was good although I would have preferred if it was presented as buffet. You had to ask for items on the menu rather than help yourself which make it a little less relaxed.
3 Radisson Collection Hotel, Royal Mile Edinburgh

Won of the best places I've stayed in. Rooms are one of a kind. And the price is very good. I would come here again... a 5 star for me
4 24 Royal Terrace Hotel

Lovely little secluded garden. Try the deep fried pickles - they are amazing.
5 Grassmarket Hotel

This is an old building re-design in a funky modern style. Once we entered the lobby, we fall in love with this hotel.
Our family group of four, had a big room with four single beds. Plenty of room for our four big suitcases. The room was extremely clean. The bed was super comfy.
We loved the dandy comic wallpaper and a giant street map of the local area on the another side of the wall in our room too.
The location is unbeatable, so many eateries and local shops nearby.
We had a breakfast in the bar next door. It was fantastic.
Definitely will stay again when we’re going back to Edinburgh.
Note:
1. They provide tunnock tea cakes in our room everyday. Thank you for that
2. Takes around 15 - 20 minutes by walking or £ 4.00 by taxi/uber from Edinburgh Waverly Station to this hotel.
3. Wear comfy shoes since the road is hilly.
6 The Dunstane Houses

Really accommodating and friendly staff. Interactions were genuine, helpful and pleasant. Food was delicious. The main course was elegant and well balanced. Would recommend, as it was a relaxing and peaceful atmosphere. Thank you.
7 No11 Brasserie & Boutique Hotel & Intimate Wedding Venue

What a fantastic hotel. Room was one of the nicest I think I’ve ever stayed in. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a six course taster menu as part of our deal and it was incredible. Food was outstanding! I’d highly recommend this hotel and will most definitely e back for future stays. Thank you.
8 Eden Locke, George Street

The rooms really have everything you need, the interior design is beautiful and the location is excellent. Only minus is that there seems to be no radiators in the room and it can get a bit chilly during the winter season. But apart from that I would highly recommend this hotel.
9 The Glasshouse, Autograph Collection

The room is a wee bit old but cosy and the place is not expensive.
10 Le Monde Hotel

Lovely venue, perfect location and the staff are amazing given the challenging times we are in
12 The Bonham Hotel

13 Brooks Hotel Edinburgh

Hotel was very clean and a good location for visiting Edinburgh. Staff were very friendly and attentive and nothing was too much bother. Afternoon tea was delicious and gluten free was well catered for. I would highly recommend this hotel
14 Cheval Old Town Chambers

Friendly service great staff, excellent rooms and a great location.
15 The Witchery by the Castle

images
We had a wonderful romantic lunch at The Witchery before leaving Edinburgh. It’s a very intimate space with dark lighting even in the day. The staff were super attentive and the food was amazing. We’d definitely go for a nice dinner next time we’re in the city. Dress was casual during the day but we felt a little underdressed in just a button down and jeans all the same. The space is fancy and you’ll want to be too.
16 The Lane Boutique Hotel

images
Superb accommodation and wonderful hosts. Mark couldn't be more friendly, helpful and accommodating. The only place to stay in Edinburgh for us
17 The Balmoral

images
A beautiful hotel located in the heart of the city. EVERYTHING is within walking distance. Princess Street to The Royal Mile, The Witchery by the Castle (restaurant), bars, bars and more bars! The perfect "home base" to explore and the concierge desk will help make arrangements for just about anything. Go, enjoy, explore then relax!
18 The Raeburn

images
Homely restaurant and lounge with affordable menu, large terrace and outdoor bar. Very popular in the area, bookings are recommended.
19 The Angels Share Hotel and Bar

images
The service and staff were second to none. So attentive!
We stayed in a superior double and it was smaller than other rooms we’ve stayed in elsewhere but it didn’t detract. It just had a lovely comfortable, homely feel. Lots of natural light from the big windows. There were no pink soft furnishings on the bed when we arrived (they are in the photos on the site) and it looks so much better without; I thought the pink made it look a little cheap in the pictures.
The bed and pillows are ridiculously comfortable. Those pillows.. I’ve already looked online to see if I can buy my own. They were like clouds!!
Breakfast was great. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and my only niggle about the stay was the evening meal. Unfortunately mine was bland and very beige but my husband enjoyed his.
All in all, a great stay. We’d definitely stay again. Edinburgh is such a warm and welcoming city and the Angels Share is no different. Thank you for a lovely stay .
20 Market Street hotel

The good points
Hotel is very central to the old town, only a five minute walk from Waverley Station. The hotel is very clean and modern and they have good covid precautions. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the room was large and we had a great shower and lovely bath, overall we were happy with our room.
The not so good points
The Scottish breakfast is not really what I expected, the sausages were full of herbs and the tomatoes were covered in garlic and herbs, it was more like an Italian version of a Scottish breakfast, ok but not for me. The wait for breakfast was long, usually 30-40 minutes (this was with only about 10 people in the area seated for breakfast so it was not what you would call busy) , even on the third day when I asked for 2 poached eggs with a slice of bread, it just took ages. They had no yogurt and the fruit bowl I got consisted of apple, a few grapes and a very black banana. They also had no fresh orange.
I felt as if there were very few staff in the hotel, this may have been due to Covid/furlough etc. but I just felt as if there was something lacking. The hotel is lovely with great views from the bar and I cannot fault the staff, I just think that someone needs to be more responsible for making sure you do not run out of the basics on the menu, fresh orange and yogurt are pretty much a standard thing on the breakfast menu, if you are going to advertise it, then make sure you have it - we sat down to breakfast at 9am every morning and it was quiet, so I have no idea how they ran out of items and took so long to make breakfast. All in all, a good hotel if you want to be central to things, a few minor tweaks and it could be really good
