Reviews from visitors:
It was the central location that was very good. It is near the Altstadt but also near the shopping zone.
The staff was nice and super friendly.
Although they gave us the wrong key card jacket (stayed another room)
We had a good time at the bar. And the restaurant "Stadthaus Brasserie" is excellent.
We were a little disappointed with a few things. 1)the complimentary coffee was one of the worse. Is was the instant packages that tasted like cardboard. There were no snacks available in the room nor in the lobby. We were told to go outside somewhere to buy from the kiosk. (Not very convenient).
The hotel is dog friendly, although they do not provide dog amenities (I.e. dog bed or bowl which some hotels do)
My favourite go to hotel when visiting Dusseldorf, love the fireplace, cosy and elegant breakfast settings and great location.
The check in time was average but not very friendly. There was very little explanation on where the room is and the lift. I was just let myself searching this complex hotel. First room was not clean and the light was constantly flickering. I changed next door which was better but the air conditioning/ heating isn’t working properly. For the new room the room key wasn’t handed to me so I had to go down and pick it up. Lined up and the staff told me his colleague will handle it. I had to go to the second line and line up once again. I don’t think there is much customer service training or is this the German culture ? Or is it because I am asian ? Overall it is spooky and quiet not sure if I can recommend my friends to book this hotel. I stayed two nights at the Hyatt house just next door which was much more professional as you would expect from a decent hotel. Medici....still has lots of room for improvement. Especially the staff attitude
The hotel decor is quite unique, the public areas were pleasant from check in to check out. The public area toilets were very nicely arranged and spotless. The suite decor was quite eclectic - a mishmash of styles. The living area of the suite was oddly arranged with a small breakfast bar right next to an enormous dining table with seating for eight persons. The dining table and chairs were unnecessarily large for the room. The living room area was pleasant, but the TV was arranged 90 degrees from the sofa. There was a tall, large, Japanese style cabinet that was covered with a thick layer of dust. The master bathroom was excellent - the shower, sink and bath tub all wonderful.
Great hotel with a classical arts theme. Walking the hallways is like walking through a museum. Also perfectly located in the middle of the old town. Adequate rooms with free drinks and good WiFi.
