Reviews from visitors:
We stayed a few nights on our honeymoon. The location is great, but the noise from the streets was very loud. Comfy beds. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.
We had the best time and the hotel was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was newly renovated and the service was excellent! Only one downside. It has tree floors but no elevator and we were on the 3rd floor. Luckily we needed the exercise. One amenity was that there is a connected bar, the No Name Bar. Normally a locals bar.
Warning before booking this hotel: If you didn’t come to Dublin to party, you might want to book a room elsewhere. This place is gonna be loud and bumping until 3am each and every weekend night. It’s located in the heart of the Temple Bar District and is within walking distance of a million pubs (including an awesome club in the basement of this hotel). I knew about the clubbing and the noise ahead of time, so I had no surprises and I was totally happy with my stay.
The rooms are small (and so are the bathrooms), but the beds are more than comfy. Check in time is 3pm, the staff is run by a couple of young lads that are very courteous and more than happy to help carry your luggage up the stairs (there is no elevator here my friends).
Sleeping tips: hit up all the pubs in the area, and if you haven’t had enough to pass out yet, hit the bar in the reception area of the hotel. Get enough to drink, and you’ll be able to pass out with your windows open to enjoy the cool weather. :-)
No air conditioning here, but they do have radiators for heat.
They have a total of 16 rooms, and the staff couldn’t be more friendly than they were on my visit.
The room is a bit cramped and there isn’t a lot of space to move around in, but there’s so much to do in Dublin, you won’t be spending much time here anyway.
There’s also no hotel parking lot, so if you have a car, you’ll have to hunt for a place on the street or a private parking garage in the area.
In room amenities include:
Electric tea kettle
Safe
Small TV with a few cable channels and builtin DVD player - they lend out DVDs in the lobby.
Exceptional service, clean rooms and prime location. The staff was very helpful for a tourist like myself navigating the city. They also hold your bags on the morning before or afternoon after checkout. The rooms are very nice. I really enjoyed my stay.
Quaint upgrades to a historic building. The noise from the street is raucous due to poorly insulated window frames which made this stay sub par. Breakfast wasn't served until 8 and we had to leave for the airport at 7, bummer there. An earlier breakfast option would be nice. $114 is considerably high for what we received.
