This hotel has great position - right at the beach. It's big and nice, the receptionists spoke English very well and were very helpful and nice.
There is one big problem with this hotel. The word Kaštel means church and so every day starting at 6 a.m., the bells start ringing and you can hear it through the walls. That's not great on a vacation.

Vila Ružica is not just another seaside reasort. It originates from a different era and it has that old vibe which I found it pleasant. It's not new, it's renovated.
Food is ok, no superlatives but still deasant. A short distant walk to the city center.
My fiancee and I stayed in the hotel for 5 days and everything was more than expected. The hotel is renovated and is looking great. The rooms are very cool, the staff is very friendly, and the food is very good. They even have a very tasty gluten free bread (you should announce in advance if you want it so they can prepare it for you in the kitchen). The only objection is that hotel is on a hill and the road to it from the omorika beach is pretty steep, but if you're young and don't have a bunch of kids or stuff to carry, this shouldn't be a big problem :) But the view from the hotel and restaurant is outstanding!
Great service and very hospitable and benevolent owner we are gladly coming back year after year very good breakfast and terrace with a view of whole Kvarner area beautiful experience
Here are some impressions:
- staff was very helpful, welcoming and warm
- great buffet for breakfast and dinner
- excellent view
- inside pool was a jocker for rainy days
On the other hand:
- very poor bed and pillow quallity, not what you expect for hotel
- plates were somehow dirty (but not unsanitary way), they are visibly not washed properly regulary
