The best dishes from Tuscany with many local specialities. Fantastic service from the staff, everything is done with great enthusiasm. Very welcoming atmosphere ! So far our go to restaurant in Cortona.
Paula is an outstanding host and amazing chef. We felt like guests in her home - she warmly welcomed us on arrival and made sure we were comfortable, tucking our bikes away safely in their basement. Our room was terrific, with incredible views from the rooftop terrace. The dinner on our second night was one of the best during our two weeks in Toscana and the service impeccable. In the morning we were treated to her delicious homemade jam and marmalade. On the morning of our departure she sent us on our way with warm croissants and biscotti, just like your mother would- simply the best!
Such a beautiful restaurant with amazing food and atmosphere. Everything we ate here was absolutely delicious (including house-made handmade pasta and desserts!). You feel that everything is done with love and care here. We were in Cortona in July and the weather was beautiful, so we sat outside right next to the ancient well (after which the place is named). There were mostly locals there (everyone was speaking Italian around us, which was great!). We loved it all, and got to meet the owners (Paola and Franco). Highly recommend Al Pozzo Antico!
My family and I have been touring Italy for two weeks and eating at this restaurant was one of the most memorable experiences we have had while here. We not only got to eat Paola's amazing homemade recipes, but we were given the chance to participate in her "Tuscan Cooking Class" and follow those recipes ourselves. Unbelievable and unforgettable.
Fantastic place. Super clean and comfortable. We will definitely come back there. The host very friendly and professional.
