This property is truly awesome! First time we went we had a little bumpy stay but this was when they first opened so everyone’s going to have bumpy starts!! The staff is awesome and friendly. Food is really good! The general manager really helped us with coming back for another stay and made sure it was perfect this time around. 5/5 for the soaking tubs alone! Rooms are always clean and it’s close to everything. We will be returning without a doubt!!

Other than the two hour wait I had to endure in order to get my room ready, it was the best experience I ever had. Room service was easy and the dining experience was awesome. Huge shout out to Andrew the Wine Director because he was patient, knowledgeable and took care of our table. 6/5 total experience rate and I would love to dine-in again. I’ll probably book a bigger room next time. Oh, and the music they played is great, oldies with a couple of underground tracks. Perfect vibe for the average Chicagoan.

Checks all the right boxes. Plentiful options for food and drink that are within walking distance. Beds are very comfortable and the fixtures are high end. All this at a reasonable price.
4 The Publishing House Bed and Breakfast

I had the best staycation at The Publishing House. It’s in a prime location in the city, towards the end of the West Loop restaurant row so it’s quiet but accessible to some of the best food in the city. As for the lodging itself, it is so clear that the powerhouse women running pay attention to detail in caring for their guests. Everything is well thought out - from the design, to what’s provided in the room, to the common areas. It’s such a beautiful space.
The owner is extremely gracious, check in is earlier than most around 2pm and checked out at 12pm Sunday. So I feel like I got full use of the space. Also, there’s fresh daily made pastries and the breakfast that’s included each morning is actually really good. You’ll have the standards and then a choice of a savory entrees or sweet entree (or get both!)
I’ve told a lot of my friends about The Publishing House because it’s a true gem in the city.
